Wilted Violet is September's Distress Ink color from Ranger, and it looks fabulous. The staff has put in their "pink sheet orders" at Art 'n Soul for the new color . . . you might want to right now before you forget. It's everything luscious!
We're continuing the August INSPIRATION STATION at Art 'n Soul since we have more card inspirations to share from the store. The August INSPIRATION STATION features the Dina Wakley Mixed Media Stamp set "Handwritten Quotes" from Ranger.
Today's INSPIRATION STATION card comes from Marj!
I always love how Marj incorporates so many different sources of products. Adding the Tim Holtz Stencil "Stripes" and the Sharpie pen dots really added to the overall card design.
Copic Markers have made an informal comparison review of how Copic Markers work on various papers and card stock. If you're interested, clink on the link below.
On the Magenta blog, Marietta shares a resist technique that she used to make this beautiful card.
Bianca uses Magenta's Nuance watercolors and one of the stamps that Dianne designed for Magenta to make this very colorful card . . .
On the Memory Box blog, Sherry Hester makes a beautiful card using one of the latest die releases.
Yoonsun Hur makes beautiful cards and I especially like this one. It's so airy, cheerful, and dimensional. Yoonson made this card for the recent Autumn Splendor challenge for PoppyStamps.
I've always admired Selma Stevenson's card designs. She is designing for Elizabeth Craft Designs' Susan Tierney Cockburn floral dies. Selma has made a beautiful Christmas card rich in the holiday colors of red and gold.
Becca Feeken has shared a brilliant way to identify what embossing folders and edging dies are in her inventory of craft supplies. I thought I'd pass it along to you . . .
Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to view the Chihuly Glass Garden near the base of the Space Needle at Seattle Center. It was a private event hosted by The Baird Group, the financial planning and management company my husband and I use. To say I was impressed is an understatement. I share just a few photos . . . I was taken aback when I discovered I had taken 156 photos! It's hard not to take photos when you have this much eye candy right in front of you.
Don't forget that tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m., Art 'n Soul's fabulous Recycled Rubber Sale weekend begins. There are so many treasures that we had no more room in the back to store what was priced today. If you're looking for bargains, Art 'n Soul is the place to be this weekend!
See you soon . . .

If you haven't signed up for Lisa Lee's Inchie Arts' class at Art 'n Soul on Saturday, September 12, you might want to do that now. This particular class has always been rich in inspiration to everyone who has taken the class and I know this one will be totally fun and creative.

I hope you'll find the opportunity to visit the Chihuly Glass Garden. It's a real visual experience. I highly recommend timing your visit so you are there at dusk or later to really enjoy the outdoor garden area with the evening lights.

This month, Art 'n Soul's INSPIRATION STATION features the Dina Wakley Mixed Media Stamp Set from Ranger, "Handwritten Quotes." All of the cards are on display at Art 'n Soul.
Pam will be at the store all day today and looks forward to showing you techniques and ideas to help with your next project, or even your first project! That's one of the sole differences between Art 'n Soul and other big box stores . . . they don't take the time to show you how something works, work with you on your latest project, or recommend tools and supplies that will be best for your project. We hope that you will always keep that in mind! We love our customers and we love meeting new customers who have never visited Art 'n Soul before.
Magenta has announced another new member to their Design Team. Her name is Miranda Degenaars and she hails from the Netherlands. On the Magenta blog, here is her first official introductory card posting . . .
For this second card, Miranda has this posted on her own website "Mir'acle Art Inspirations", along with the first card. On the Magenta blog posting, there is a link to Miranda's blog next to her name.
Linda McMillan has shared a stunning wedding card on the PoppyStamps' blog. I think the inside of the card is just as stunning as the front.
Sandy Allnock has shown several techniques on the various Art Squares from Inchie Arts. Some we've enjoyed in classes at Art 'n Soul taught by Lisa Lee, creator and owner of Inchie Arts. It's worth your while to go to Sandy's posting for her "take" on inches, twinchies and ATC's from Inchie Arts.
On the Hero Arts' blog, Mariana Grigsby shares how to use die cuts as masks for different uses. Enjoy the video!
On the Ranger blog, Anna-Karin has made a tag that I really like because it features one of those Bird Crazy stamps by Tim Holtz. The tutorial is about Ranger's Micro Glaze as a water-resist. And, this project uses the latest Distress Ink colors that have been streaming in at Art 'n Soul.
Carolyn had a great weekend at Art 'n Soul and Pam is going to start another great week at Art 'n Soul. Have you put in your latest order from Impression Obsession? I just finished mine last week . . . there are so many great selections from which to choose. Pam will point you in the right direction if you get lost in their newest catalog release or an older version.
Today's INSPIRATION STATION comes from me. It also features a well-known stamp from Magenta and colored pencil work using Prismacolor Colored Pencils.

Art 'n Soul's INSPIRATION STATION continues featuring the new "Handwritten Quotes" stamp set by Dina Wakley for Ranger. The cards are on display at the store, so please be sure to look at them "up close and personal".

Tomorrow at Art 'n Soul, Sandy Allnock will be spending the day conducting two classes. You might call the store first thing in the morning (360.357.6820) to see if there is a space for the watercoloring class that starts at 10:30 a.m.
Then there's the afternoon journal class . . . wow! I had signed up for this class and have been waiting for the date to arrive. Alas, a friend's funeral service pre-empts. I know there are a couple of seats available . . . again, please call the store first thing in the morning (360.357.6820).
During both classes, there will be a Lawn Fawn Trunk Show at Art 'n Soul that features the new releases that are not available anywhere else right now. There are dies and stamps . . . please come in early for the best selection.
Kazuko Kocho's daughter is a budding artist. I share this photo of a recent colored pencil work by Emma. As some of you may know, Kazuko has taught at Art 'n Soul and she has an open invitation to return, soon we hope!
On the Penny Black blog, they're offering a $25 gift certificate if you leave a comment on their blog posting today (Friday) and also like their Facebook Page. What drew me to the posting are two cards using stamps from their latest holiday release . . .
If you want to see a dramatic looking Christmas card by Heather, take a look at these two cards that she made with last year's Penny Black Christmas release stamps . . .
This is one of the most beautiful cards I have ever seen on the PoppyStamps' blog. Olga has used 6 PoppyStamps' dies for a special birthday card! I have some of the dies and I'm going to seriously consider purchasing those that she used which are not in my personal stash!

It's time to turn in, even though I've been sleeping forever it seems. We're supposed to enjoy rain this weekend; it's been quite elusive this summer and everything is so parched. It's also heightened the fire danger level to maximum in Washington State and much of our state's natural lands are burning up. So if you have nothing to do between artistic projects, please do a rain dance for us.
