The INSPIRATION STATION cards at Art 'n Soul are quite popular right now with the arrival of fall. This month's INSPIRATION STATION features stamp and die sets from Hero Arts, "Autumn" (CL882) and "Autumn Frame Cuts" (D1156).

Today's INSPIRATION STATION card is made by me. (the green color is only the background color that the card sits on)

by Debbie Gaetz
  • Hero Arts "Autumn" Clear Stamp Set
  • Classic Crest 80 lb. card stock in Solar White (top panel)
  • Stardream Metallic card stock in Echo Bronze (mat panel)
  • Curious Metallic card stock in Mandarin (A2 card base)
  • Inchie Arts Inchie Squares in White
  • StazOn Midi ink in Spiced Chai (sentiment)
  • VersaFine ink in Onyx (leaf stamp on inchie squares)
  • Copics in Green Gray (BG93) for inchie top; Cashew (E79) for side bevel
  • Sakura Glaze Pens
  • Washi tape

Oh my gracious wow! The glorious magic Miranda has whipped up with Magenta's new Leafy Flower Stamp. On her post today, Miranda shows more cards that she has made with the background paper she created and using this same wonderful Magenta stamp.

On the weekly email from Art 'n Soul, I provided the Technique of the Week. I couldn't wait to use the new Inchie Arts' Swatch board, and I found I could use the 4" Art Square along with it.

    by Debbie Gaetz
Using the 4" Art Square from Inchie Arts, I stamped all 4 stamp images in the stamp set with IMAGINE Crafts Tsukineko's VersaMark. I heat embossed with Ranger's Embossing Tinsel in Silver. The square was then mounted on a 4-1/8" square of white card stock. A white Inchie Arts' Swatch was mounted on a 4-1/8" x 2-1/8" piece of metallic card stock in gun metal. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark onto a piece of the same metallic card stock (3-7/8" x 1-7/8"), and heat embossed with the same embossing powder.

A scrap piece of handmade paper was adhered to the base card. The mounted Inchie Arts' square and swatch boards were then adhered to the card along the center. A piece of 1/8" washi tape was placed along the left side so the card might look like a book cover.

    • Inchie Arts' 4-inch Art Square in black and Swatch Board in white
    • Balzer Designs' Rotating Repeat Tiles - Pattern from Impression Obsession (3143-LG)
    • Sentiment stamp from Penny Black (3294F . . . many things)
    • Ranger Embossing Tinsel in Silver
    • Small glitter enamel dot (over the "i" in imagination)

This card was very quick and easy to make because the tile stamps fit perfectly onto the Inchie Arts' squares. When I'm able to replenish the Twinchie square supply, these stamps are going to get another work-out!

Tonight starts the full weekend of RubberMoon classes from Kristen Powers, aka Kae Pea. I'm so excited! If you're going to be at tonight's class, I'll see you then!

Thanks for stopping by! Carolyn is at the store all day and would love to see you.

We're continuing the August INSPIRATION STATION at Art 'n Soul since we have more card inspirations to share from the store. The August INSPIRATION STATION features the Dina Wakley Mixed Media Stamp set "Handwritten Quotes" from Ranger.

Today's INSPIRATION STATION card comes from Marj!

    by Marj Marion

    • Dina Wakley's Mixed Media Stamps "Handwritten Quotes" (MDR 44475) by Ranger
    • Watercolor background
    • Corners:  Tim Holtz Stencil "Stripes" (THS 004)
    • Dots:  Sharpie Pen

I always love how Marj incorporates so many different sources of products. Adding the Tim Holtz Stencil "Stripes" and the Sharpie pen dots really added to the overall card design.

If you haven't signed up for Lisa Lee's Inchie Arts' class at Art 'n Soul on Saturday, September 12, you might want to do that now. This particular class has always been rich in inspiration to everyone who has taken the class and I know this one will be totally fun and creative.

Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to view the Chihuly Glass Garden near the base of the Space Needle at Seattle Center. It was a private event hosted by The Baird Group, the financial planning and management company my husband and I use. To say I was impressed is an understatement. I share just a few photos . . . I was taken aback when I discovered I had taken 156 photos! It's hard not to take photos when you have this much eye candy right in front of you.

I hope you'll find the opportunity to visit the Chihuly Glass Garden. It's a real visual experience. I highly recommend timing your visit so you are there at dusk or later to really enjoy the outdoor garden area with the evening lights.

Don't forget that tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m., Art 'n Soul's fabulous Recycled Rubber Sale weekend begins. There are so many treasures that we had no more room in the back to store what was priced today. If you're looking for bargains, Art 'n Soul is the place to be this weekend!

    See you soon . . .
