Getting up at 3:20 a.m. to take my husband to the airport, arriving at 4:15 a.m., and returning home was a rare event . . . the getting up at 3:20 a.m. part, at least! I was too awake to return to bed since I went to sleep early last night, so I delved into making a card and shoveling stuff off of my desktop so I could use this computer. While doing so, I managed to mangle up my password for the blog. If that had not happened, I would have had this post up a lot earlier!

The Magenta order arrived yesterday at Art 'n Soul! You'll want to come in as soon as possible to see what did arrive and what you've possibly missed out on. We now order weekly from Magenta, so Dianne would be thrilled to take your order today . . . she's there all day until 6:00 p.m.

On Monday, the new ribbons from May Arts arrived; the small gingham-checked heart ribbon will ship later. I'll try to add more thin-width ribbons with that order if possible; Dianne says there are lots of requests for that size for card tops.

Did you see the papers that were delivered to Art 'n Soul on Monday? They are a special purchase from My Mind's Eye, so they come with a special price of 45-cents each. The paper may be one-sided but it is beautiful. The photos are representative of the papers only; there are others not shown here.

And wow! The SEI papers arrived this morning. If I have time, I will bring them to the store later today or tomorrow morning, as well as the new papers from Crafter's Companion.

SEI -- Sweet Sora
The gold glitter paper really goes well with all of the papers in
this collection; since it's part of the collection, it should!

The velvet papers in Cappucino, Alpine and Mosaic accompanied this paper order. We're out of the yellow which, unfortunately, has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

Crafter's Companion "Indulgence" -- one-sided papers in a matte gloss finish
11" x 17" sheets so you can make any size card you like

I haven't been able to pick up my Magenta order yet. I was more than motivated to make a card with a Magenta stamp in my stash using only 2 Chameleon marker pens and a sheet of card stock that is coming to Art 'n Soul by tomorrow.

embossing detail

I stamped with Memento in Tuxedo Black and colored the floral stamp on Classic Crest 80 lb. in Solar White with the 2 Chameleon pens; I love the color gradation the pens allow me to achieve without using additional pens. This new luxury card stock (Indulgence) from Crafter's Companion is so nice; it's heavyweight, die cuts well, embosses well, and makes a nice card base. The Spellbinder die cut as well as embossed (see embossing detail photo) when I cut the front card. I cut the inside of the frame with small detail scissors so there would be an opening for the stamped image. I had trimmed another piece of the decorated card stock 1/8" less on all sides and attached it to the reverse side to cover the inset stamped image. I used a dauber to color the white card stock with Radiant Neon in Electric Purple and roughed in a few outside spots with Memento in Elderberry. I stamped the sentiment with the Memento in Elderberry. I trimmed around the sentiment; then I adhered it to black card stock and trimmed very very close to the white edges. I placed 2 adhesive-backed crystals in purple to the two center spots along the frame's side edge.
