Quick update about the store . . . we're back to 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays at Art 'n Soul. That gives you back a half hour to do more shopping! And the new class schedule has been posted, so please check it out!

From the Millsrepco blog, this is a beautiful thank you 'tag' card created by Emily Cates.

We had a marvelous JudiKins' Day at Art 'n Soul on Monday. Between the 3 classes that Judi taught and the Trunk Show, it was quite a day. We loved every moment of it; however, our bodies were feeling 'it' after we packed up the Trunk Show and loaded everything back into the truck that night.

I took several pics but due to the exhaustive state I was in, I'm not sure I am going to correctly recall who did what. If the name under the photo isn't correct, would you please either make a comment at the end of this blog posting or call the store at 360.357.6820 to let me know what needs correction -- I'm sorry, that's the best I can come up with right now!

JudiKins' Mica Gloss™ inks are so beautiful and wonderful to work with. And I like the fact that everything is a 'surprise' when you use the 'smoosh' method followed by stamping and brayering off of the same 'smoosh'!

All of these photos are "works in progress" . . .

These are the 2 cards after you've 'smooched' them together
with drops of the Mica Gloss inks. It really helps that you use
the hi-grade coated paper from KromeKote in matte or glossy;
they are now going to be regularly stocked at Art 'n Soul.

after the Mica Gloss has dried, you stamp with
VersaMark and emboss with your choice of
embossing powders, i.e., white, black, gold or silver

after stamping, I had planned to stamp the
butterfly image again with VersaMark and
emboss with white embossing powder; however, the
panel didn't dry quickly enough so I'll find another
JudiKins' stamp to emboss with

we were given strips of the black-coated KromeKote;
they'll make great strips on cards

Judi's other technique focused on how to use Diamond Glaze™ by JudiKins. Diamond Glaze™ is an adhesive, a clear coating, and can be used in a watercolor technique. After I saw all of this, I had to buy more Diamond Glaze™ because I know I'm now going to use a lot of it

This is a 'demo' piece that Judi shared with the
class before they 'dived in' to make something similar.
The stamped image is covered with Diamond Glaze™ and
then clear glass beads are poured on top.

I can't wait to find out more details on the techniques taught in this class; I tried to 'listen in' but I was busy helping Rob with the JudiKins' Trunk Show sale.

Like I said, it was quite a day . . . and a day we hope to repeat next year! We especially want to thank our very loyal customers who shopped at the Stamp Show and still found more to purchase at the store on Monday! It was nice to see so many familiar faces from the Stamp Show at the classes and the trunk sale on Monday.

And we want to thank Phon and Joey next door at the Thai House Restaurant for allowing us to use their table space for the Trunk Show Sale. It's lucky for us that the sale took place on a day the restaurant is normally closed because I don't know where we would have put everything. However, we starved for the delish food at the Thai House. We encourage all of you to stop in at the Thai House to say a special thank you and patronize the restaurant many extra times this month and next as another way to say "thanks".

Don't forget to stop over at the IMAGINE Crafts blog. All of this week they are doing a Celebrate Neon Blog Hop with Stampendous featuring their new Stack Art! You can catch up with the hop by clicking on this link -- http://imaginecraftsblog.com/

We'll see you tomorrow . . . in the meantime, please stop into Art 'n Soul and say hi. We'd love to see you!

    1. Amy so do we! Judi Watanabe has done lots of videos that you can find on utube. Even better is to find a stamp show that JudiKins is part of and watch her demo; she's very nice and is so happy to answer your questions. Thanks for stopping by.
