Art 'n Soul's 9th Birthday Party yesterday was fun, fun, fun! Unfortunately, I was so busy I wasn't able to take time out to photograph the activity, the friends, and the festive surroundings. These are some 'after the party' pics I took so I could at least show you some of the demo's . . . I say 'some' because I don't have a pic of the Shimmer Sheetz demo or Suzanne Glazier's demo that was the real memento piece of the celebration.

THE YUMMIEST CUPCAKES
OUR SPECIAL THANKS TO DEBBIE COPSEY
for bringing us these beautiful flowers in
celebration of our 9th Birthday!
Susie showed us how easy it is to take watercolor paper (140 lb. cold press and using the smooth side), that has been die cut into a tag shape and make beautiful tags for gifts, card tops, etc. Emboss the stamped image you want, then apply color from Tombow markers onto the tag. Adding water with a brush to the color(s) will allow you to spread the color around for a 'watercolor' effect and the embossed image will act as a resist.

Deb Kuttel demo'd her expertise in zentangling. She prepared tags on 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper by starting two different zentangle patterns that could be finished at the demo table or taken home to finish. Zentangled tags would be soooo cool as a tag on your gifts because they would certainly be distinctive among other gift tags. I am packaging up tags of different sizes for you to purchase so you can do the same thing . . . they'll be in the store by the end of the week. Everyone is anxious for Deb to schedule another Zentangle class.

At the party, we had a gift-wrapped box with the question . . . "What's in the Box?" It was there because our What's in the Box for the Holidays package from Memory Box didn't arrive in time for the party as we had hoped. Only one of the boxes arrived today and it was opened with plenty of help from Kiki Hudson, Any Ng, Linda Beveridge, Marilyn Dawson, Deb and Dianne.

We're opening the REAL box  . . .

Dianne has been waiting for this box . . .  we didn't know
what would be in the box other than an assortment of
new holiday stamps and dies from Memory Box!

Some stamps . . . (another box of stamps should arrive tomorrow, we hope!)

and LOTS of new holiday dies!

We know that the goodies arriving today and tomorrow from Memory Box will not be enough to meet the demand from our loyal customers, so we will be taking orders . . . get those pink sheets out!
!
Linda's ready to pass around the pink sheets!
The estimated 100+ new dies and stamps for Halloween, Fall and Christmas in the What's in the Box promotion from Memory Box are exclusive to the stores, like us, who participated; meaning, non-participating stores won't see or have access to these goodies for another couple of weeks. So please, make Art 'n Soul your place to buy and/or order your favorite Memory Box stamps and dies now for Halloween, Fall & Christmas before they're out to everyone else!

Tomorrow, I hope to show you the beautiful sample tags that Marj demo'd at the party, featuring a mix of dies from Cheery Lynn, Spellbinders, Memory Box, etc.

Our eternal thanks to everyone who stopped into Art 'n Soul yesterday to celebrate our 9th birthday. Because of you, we're looking forward to a fabulous 10th year! See you soon . . .
