Because schedules have been extremely hectic these past 5 days (the birthday party, delivery of our huge order from Memory Box, and a memorial service for our loyal customer and friend, Sandra Gallo), in addition to the busy days of summer in general, we're running out of 'evening after-hour' steam at the store and more conflicting summer schedules are limiting attendance. Susie and Inchie Club leader, Sam Lee, have announced that the Art 'n Soul Inchie Club meetings have been suspended for July (tomorrow night) and August, and we'll resume the regular schedule in September (Wednesday, Septembe 26). We thank you for your understanding.

Our order from Notions came in today . . . nothing bent or crushed from the train derailment in Montana! So here are the items we had hoped to have available to you at the birthday party and it's all waiting for you!
Zentangle books . . .

6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye  . . .

Tombow marker sets and watercolor brushes for your watercoloring techniques;
Micron pens in different sizes for your entangling fun.

I have to share with you the two birthday cards Art 'n Soul received at the birthday party . . .
a beautiful handmade birthday card from Peggy Austin . . .
and this hilarious card from Mary Esperanza . . .
don't you love Mary's great sense of humor? I do!
These beautiful hydrangeas are from Deb Kuttel's garden . . .
gorgeous at its best!
Kathy Erickson from Olympia came into the store today to share her enthusiasm for stamping and watercoloring on watercolor paper (and sometimes adding a little gesso into the mix) . . . we always enjoy sharing the excitement from our customers over the various techniques we teach at Art 'n Soul. Thank you, Kathy, for allowing us to share your beautiful cards.

One of the joys Art 'n Soul has enjoyed is being named Magenta's Retailer of the Year for the second consecutive year. They asked us if we had any ideas for new stamp designs and to also comment on a new design Magenta had developed.
by Nathalie Metivier, Magenta
Stamps:  07.670.H & 42.126.L
Direct to paper with distress inks.
Here's the Magenta tangle stamp; when we first saw it, the wording was part of the stamp design. We suggested that Magenta separate the tangle and the words into two separate stamps. They listened and produced the two stamps. Below is an example of using the tangle stamp on watercolor paper for zentangling and coloring using the watercolor technique.

From Cheery Lynn's blog . . .

Children are a Gift From God

"Good morning Cheery Lynn fans!  With 6 grandchildren I have had plenty of opportunities to make baby announcements.  The one I'm sharing today is more for a gift and not just a simple announcement. To make this announcement I used a fold out card by Ruby Rock-It. I used the English Tea Party Doily, Border Carnivale, Mini Fanciful Flourish and Stacker Flower 6.

Be sure to check out the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog. The theme this week is celebrations. You can win a $20 Gift certificate towards your favorite die if you choose to play along!

Thanks for stopping by the Cheery Lynn blog today!"

It's late and time to go. I said I would share Marj's beautiful tags featuring die cuts in today's posting . . . alas, it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Be creative . . . it's the exercise of your soul!
