Saturday, March 26, 9 a.m. – 12 Noon, $35, Debbie G. and  1-4 p.m., Cindy ($35)  “A DAY OF STEAMPUNK FUN”
Long ago we learned about Mary Ann Moss’ Remains of the Day journal from Carla Dixon.  Several of us were fascinated with what she had done and Debbie expressed interested in doing a journal like that with the Graphic 45 Steampunk paper collection that had just come out.  Then Sam Lee did her own ROD journal which was complimented on by Mary Ann herself!  Then Debbie found some Steampunk fabric!  The dream was coming together!  Why Steampunk?  It’s about turn-of-the-century industrialization meeting Jules Verne science fiction.  You can liken it to a creative science of energy – and isn’t that a little descriptive of our life at Art ‘n Soul?  Energy & Creativity!

In the morning section of the class, you will show your steam and punk in a new way.  Mix fabric and paper to make the shell and inside pages for a new way to journal your way through 2011 or a special something in your life.  Based on Mary Ann Moss’ Remains of the Day Journal, we will cut, tear, piece, paste, sew, staple, clip and tie our way into a fabulous journal/book.  In the afternoon class, Cindy will work with you to embellish the Steampunk book.  She will use stamps, diecuts, bling, chipboard and who knows what else to bring your pages to life.  She will also have extra found embellishments for sale so you can really get the “punky” style.  Bring a hardy glue to work with (i.e. e-6000, Amazing Goop or your choice) that can hold heavier objects.  All you will need to do is add your personal script later!  8  person maximum, so sign up early!! Check with the store for a list of class supplies needed.
