Today was the Sidewalk Crack Art play day at Art 'n Soul. It was a new art form and they dived right in. I think they enjoyed the process and I'm sure they'll never look at sidewalk cracks again without asking what shapes do they see! Sam said she was walking and saw a sidewalk crack she wanted to photograph with her phone, but the battery died.

by Sam Lee
Sam first saw a man with a construction hard hat on; however
as she worked on, Sam felt he had become more of a
french artist type with a beret and scarf. I'm amazed at how
well Sam captured the facial features!

And then from other sidewalk crack designs, pieces of abstract art in the making . . . the photos were taken before they had finished.

a bird; something happened as she was putting
the designs on the wing and so Carolyn moved
on to the next two abstracts. I think the wings look
great, don't you?

I love this bird; Shannon used

the bird has been colored with watercolor
colored pencils; applying water with a brush
will smooth out the colors.

Marty Robinson came by the store to show how much she's enjoying playing with the new IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko Radiant Neons and the Delicata in Silvery Shimmer. She said she was concerned that the Radiant Neons would be too garish and discovered, much to her delight, that they are bright and wonderful to work with.

Our current Artist of the Month at Art 'n Soul is Nancy Bishop. If you haven't taken the time to look at the display of some of Nancy's creative card making, you really should.

I love how Nancy has taken a photograph, and imposed
a stamped image that has been detailed cut to go with the photo.
