PLEASE NOTE:  beginning Sunday, March 1, Art 'n Soul's Sunday hours will be 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. That extra half hour will allow staff, who work that day, to enjoy their church service before getting to the store. All other hours remain the same. Thank you!

2015 NORTHWEST PAPER CHASE -- "Games"
Art 'n Soul is very happy to announce we're participating in this year's Northwest Paper Chase. Our game is "marbles" . . . yes, that old-fashioned game that us 'olders' played on the ground. Passport books that enter you into the Paper Chase are available to order at Art 'n Soul right now . . . please stop in soon!

We're doing everything we can to bring spring into the thoughts and creative process at Art 'n Soul. It's easy to do when you have those lovely stamps from Magenta.

I went home last night and worked on a couple of sample cards that I finished earlier today and dropped off at the store mid-afternoon. They were quick and easy to do.

by Debbie Gaetz
This is a technique I used before; after coloring the stamped image with only 2 colors from the new Chameleon set and stamping the sentiment, I cut the panel horizontally in thirds. I pieced the three sections inside the embossed panel of the A2 natural card top, and surrounded that with a thin copper border peel-off. The A2 card top was adhered to a piece of copper mirrircard card stock, that was then placed atop the base card.

SUPPLIES:   Magenta Mallow Flowers 14.635.P stamped with VersaFine in black; RubberMoon Lots of Happy stamped with VersaFine in Olympia Green; Shadow color around image -- Copic Marker Cool Grey 1; Conqueror 118 lb. card stock in Diamond White for base card.

The Magenta flower stamp was applied directly to the A2 80 lb. embossed panel top with VersaFine in black. Prismacolor colored pencils were used to color the blossoms. Over the darker colored areas, Wink of Stella in clear was applied. A small yellow pearl was placed where the blossom met the stem on each flower. The Magenta sentiment stamp was placed vertically and stamped with VersaFine in black. The panel was adhered to a colored card stock, and that was attached to the card base (Conqueror 118# in Diamond White).

SUPPLIES:  Magenta Stylized Poppies 0716.O; Rest and Renewal 07.843.G.

Both of the cards are at the store for you to see.

Helene has posted several beautiful cards that are perfect for sympathy cards that we do not enjoy sending but must. They all feature the latest stamp designs from Magenta, including the sentiment stamp requested by Art 'n Soul.

All of Helene's cards are so artistic. I can't wait for her to return to Art 'n Soul in May . . . stay tuned for dates and details.

Don't forget . . . tomorrow (Friday) is the Art 'n Soul Zentangle Club that meets from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Sunday, you might want to make sure you stop in at the store because Linda Presley from Rosie's Roadshow is conducting a class and we'll be taking orders for her 'highly popular' stamp designs.

Nothing more tonight . . . sweet dreams everyone!
