From the Altered Pages blog, I think this collage box is very cool. Check it out . . .

From the Hero Arts blog, a watercolor technique is highlighted on this blog post. These are 2 of the 3 cards featured . . .

by Rosemary D. for Hero Arts
Rosemary took the online class "watercolor for card
makers" and this emboss/resist technique is the only
one that she was able to complete to a finished card.
This is the same online class that Dianne, Susie and Marj
have been taking; I signed up for it but I haven't been able
to sit down and start the class yet . . . this is a real motivator!
This is the link to the online class information if you're interested:

it's very reasonably priced

From the Elizabeth Craft Designs' blog, Jessie Hurley shows how to use the peel-off designs from Elizabeth Craft Designs as stencils in a mixed media project.

From the Faber-Castell blog, I found this beautiful Art Journal cover by Jeanne Streiff. We usually see Jeanne identified with Impression Obsession blog as their Blog/Social Media Coordinator. It's refreshing to see her creativity shine in another way.

All of this Art Journal talk brings me to our showcase of the Art 'n Soul Journal Club and their art at work. I was blown away when I saw how many artists are participating in the monthly gathering (the second Friday of each month from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.), and the high energy, discussion and sharing that takes place.

First, this particular 3-D project by Cindy Sharp was a delight for everyone to see and enjoy. She started and she couldn't stop! Sound familiar? I'm not sure of the exact specifics but members of the Journal Club agree on a topic or idea for the following month's meeting. It's not a required 'to do' but it's fun for those who participate or observe. I think this was Cindy's assignment.

And then they shared everyone else's work . . .

This is the start to a new treasure . . . a sketch of Tamara's husband.

by Annie Stewart
Annie finished her work-in-progress from Terry Medaris' class at Art 'n Soul.
Many comments that they especially liked Annie's version because she
didn't use the vibrant southwest colors that Terry wanted students to use.

I'm sorry I missed Kathy Peterson's journal artistry. She always has interesting entries and Kathy had to leave early before I could catch her.

It's Play Day at Art 'n Soul this coming Friday, June 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sue has been working up examples of One Layer Stamping, the theme for Play Day. Bring your card stock, inks, stamps and whatever else you want to use to color your cards with and get ready to learn and share a lot with Sue. You might also want to bring your score board because I think Sue will be using some scoring techniques as well!

Thanks for stopping by today . . . looking forward to sharing more with you tomorrow night.

I loved this!

they let this little one out to the backyard, and when they checked . . . this is where they found him!
