We looked at various photocopies of sidewalk cracks from all angles, rotating the photo until we saw something in the cracks. With that and a multi-media card stock, we used a light box to light trace over the crack lines that outlined our "something" and any internal lines that were integral to it.
Using a fine-point Micron pen, we re-traced the pencil lines and then erased the pencil lines. Be sure to use a true 'art eraser' so you do not smear your work!
Then it was up to us to color and shape our "something" into "something special." Take a look . . .

Unfortunately, Mike Turner and Sandra Dinwiddie had to leave early and I wasn't able to see 'what might have been' from their looks at the world of cracks. I hope they'll bring their imaginary subjects to the store so we might take photos to share.
I googled and bing'd "sidewalk cracks" and found 3 wonderful websites . . .
- http://www.carlasonheim.com/sidewalk-cracks/ (she offers a "crack of the month")

Check out your own searches -- I think you'll be amazed! We'll never look at cracks in the sidewalks or streets as only failing concrete. It's even mesmerizing to go to the links, look at the photos and start imagining. Thank you, Linda, for bringing this new art form to Art 'n Soul. I never thought cracks would be so appealing.
Silly me! I showed photos of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup box but forgot to add the instructions to make it.

Last night was a wonderful birthday dinner to celebrate 4 birthdays. That's why you didn't see a posting from me last night. It was a rainy afternoon and we enjoyed the best of comfort food . . . a long-cooked pot roast and banana cream pie for dessert. The best part about it was spending time with my great-granddaughter, Ellie. She is now 5 months old and is just about ready to crawl; she's rolls over and holds her chest and head up all of the time, and has figured out how to scoot up to grab hold of her favorite toy. How fast they grow up!
I'll see you tomorrow!
P.S. You have until this Wednesday to bring in your gently used craft items for Recycled Rubber this Saturday!
