Let the Halloween countdown begin. Two paper collections are at Art 'n Soul that just arrived . . . Graphic 45's Steampunk Spells and My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting collections.

First up . . . My Mind's Eye!

6x6 pads!

And they've also packaged these 8x10 papers suitable for 'instant' framing and/or embellishing before framing. I think they're pretty darn cool!

Here's the Graphic 45 collection!

The Basic Grey Persimmon collection just arrived on the doorstep, so I'll share those very nice fall papers with you later.

By the way, are you signed up for Maryjo McGraw's classes this Saturday and Sunday? She's coming over to Art 'n Soul and we have a few spaces we can 'squeeze' in. Maryjo is always fun to learn from, and you do learn a lot of techniques and technique tips!

Sat., August 31, 10am-3pm, MaryJo McGraw – Bring on the Gelli!” $40
Monoprint techniques are so much fun and now with the Gelli Plate you can take it anywhere! This lush printing surface is perfect . . . easy to use for beginners and flexible to create incredibly intricate prints for more advanced students. We will use natural elements, textural surfaces, cutouts, as well as stencils and stamps. Join MaryJo and create multiple layered prints with your favorite imagery that you can use in journals, books arts, cards, or on larger pieces of art. Bring your Gelli Plate (any size), brushes, a pad of drawing paper, your favorite design oriented stamps, and your favorite acrylic colors. MaryJo will bring special paint, some unusual papers, stamps, stencils and more!

Learn how to use your favorite imagery and mediums to invent a personal look in your artwork, and also how to refine and design your intimate icons and build concepts throughout your artwork! For those of you that took the class last time, we will be looking at different technique but will use the same supplies.
In this class MaryJo will show you a wide range of fun techniques including Copic and Sharpie pen methods, oil pastels, Pan Pastels, graphite and charcoal ideas, how to draw even if you think you can't, acrylic and watercolor concepts, gel mediums, stencils, and loads of spontaneous fun! Bring along a mixed media style journal (Strathmore makes a great one), scissors and any paper ephemera or collage material you would like to use, Copic markers and a variety of paint brushes if you have them, and anything else you normally journal with. MaryJo will bring paint, Pan Pastels, and a variety of other items to play with. You are asked to bring your basic class kit to include scissors, 10 (ten) large collage (magazine or on thin copy paper) images, and 5 design-oriented rubber-stamps.

"Jackie made this beautiful tag (die nr 763). She used the Silk Microfine glitter on our Double Sided Adhesive sheets and used the Copic Markers for the shadow. What a great way to give your friends a bottle of wine!" -- Els

See you soon!
