The Ways with Washi was a fun class to teach yesterday; we even welcomed a new customer to Art 'n Soul who, coincidentally, I knew from 23 years ago! For the benefit of the students, I am reposting pics of the cards we made so they have a point of reference.

From Helene Metivier's blog for Magenta . . .

Second regard - Second look

"A fun thing to do... Look at a stamp and imagine something else... Here I used a bird to create flowers.  Just stamp around a central point, with a Micron pen, free hand draw stems, leaves...

This little leaf is fun to transform into fish, butterfly or flower...
Branches can be used as seaweeds, little dots as air bubbles...
I used Magenta stencil TM 24 and Memento inks for the background...
Micron pen for the stems and antennas... "

From the Memory Box blog . . .

Just a Note...

"Pam here...I love this Honeyblossom Sprig die paired with the Corner Bow die, the Virtuoso Music die and the just a note sentiment stamp. Memory Box Distress Dots and solids card-stocks die cut so easily!

And here's one in red...

I used mounting squares behind the leaves, flowers and notes for a little 3-d...

Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!"

All of us are busy preparing for Art 'n Soul's 10th Birthday Party on Sunday. Even the mini-cupcakes have been ordered for delivery that day! The orders are coming in and we even verified that we will have delivery on two orders that somehow were lost enroute . . . the joys of planning!

Here's just one of the new items that will be for sale at Art 'n Soul at the birthday party. We're so excited because Marj will be demo'ing the fun of making your own designer paper using acrylic paints and the Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate. Samples of papers that both Marj and Patti have made will also be on display. The Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate is also a "must have" if you're signed up or are going to sign up for one of Maryjo McGraw's classes. All of the staff has had a play date using this fabulous product and we found it was pretty darn cool. Acrylic paints will also be available to purchase so you can get started right away!

We're also going to show you the new Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers; this product was introduced at CHA and they've already sold out once! It's been hugely popular with the paper crafting crowd. Alissa is going to show how easy it is to be make your own envelopes with beautiful papers!
There's so much more and I'll share some more sneak peeks about the party tomorrow (Saturday) night. Just be sure Art 'n Soul's 10th Birthday Party on Sunday, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., is on your list of weekend activities. Rain or shine, Art 'n Soul is the place to be at this Sunday afternoon! Prizes, discounts, new products, door prizes . . . and lots of friends who share your passion for fine art rubber stamping, paper crafting and mixed media art.

"Talk" to you soon!
