The Magenta Trunk Show ends on Thursday. Be sure to stop in and see some of their new stamps and some of the more popular recent ones . . . along with the sample cards by Helene Metivier, and her sister Nathalie, using those stamps.

If you missed the last-minute added Magenta class that is scheduled for this Wednesday evening, here is the information. This class was originally held last Thursday afternoon and was quite popular with the students . . . we learned how to make flowers out of smaller stamp images. And we learned about a new medium at Art 'n Soul . . . Silks! The technique is very simple and lots of fun . . . so much so that this repeat class has been added to our class schedule before Helene returns to Quebec.

WEDNESDAY, May 22, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. -- $30 Class Fee
MAKE MORE WITH YOUR STAMPS
Look what you can do with one stamp! In this class Helene helps you see what you can do with one stamp – and see it many different ways!  She will incorporate a new product (surprise for now), but you will be amazed at how it shimmers and is transparent all at the same time…..without covering up what is underneath. If you can’t quite believe it, see the beautiful samples at the store! You will make 4 cards… the examples at the show booth are for inspiration of what you can accomplish. (You’ll never guess what stamp was used! in each of these 2 cards!)

This class follows the free Play Time for students who took Helene's Mixed Media on Mixed Media Boards & Wood class on Thursday or last night. I told you about this play time in yesterday's blog.

"Helene is offering a free play afternoon to continue what you worked on or to start anew at the Magenta's Mixed Media class. How much fun will that be? Totally! I'll be there . . . will you? You must have taken the class to enjoy this play time . . . it will be sooo much fun to recapture the fun with friends who loved the class too! There's no cost unless you purchase more mixed media boards or wood blocks!"
(Helene will have the Liquitex available to use since it is not available for sale at Art 'n Soul.  Please bring your black Staz-On ink pad, colored pencils, watercolor brush, small black pen, scissors, mini-mister (if you have one), and your craft sheet.  Tissue paper and stamps will be available for use.)

From Graphic 45's blog, a project suited for the Spring Garden paper collection.

"Last but not least are these superb Secret Garden roses and flower pail by Kathy Helton! This is such a refreshing springtime creation! You can have so much fun using your favorite Graphic 45 collections to create joyful pieces of home decor like this one! It's like a breath of fresh air!"

Lost Coast Designs - perfect for Art Squares!

"We recently discovered Lost Coast Design stamps at Art N Soul in Lacey, WA. One of their stamp sets is called Doodlings, and is absolutely perfect for stamping on Art Squares. We contacted Linda and teased her that she could not have designed a more perfect match for Art Squares if she had tried.

The card above shows all 8 images in the set; six stamped on white 1" Inchie Squares and 2 stamped on white 1.5" Inchie + Squares. They were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with assorted Copic markers. (the gray around the edges is T5)

We love the versatility of this stamp set! This was created by using the single star stamp from the larger set and stamping with white pigment ink onto a black 2" Twinchie Square. Dredge the wet ink into white embossing powder and heat set. The coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils.

Four of the images in the Doodlings set are faces that come together perfectly for a box top! Stamp each of 4 wheat colored 1.5" Inchie + Squares with black pigment ink. Dredge with clear embossing powder and heat set. Color with Prismacolor pencils and add detail dots with a Krylon Gold pen. (the subtle edging color is a Copic W2)
(note: while our box top kits contain only white Art Squares; just know that you can always substitute with any of our 6 other colors!)"

"Your life needs more votives, more Creative Medium, and more John, so check out this video for a simple project incorporating all three.

From Penny Black . . .

"Such great stamped texture on this beautiful creation by Larissa using 40-201 Roman Surround and 30-159 Dahlias!"

I was able to get about 1/3 of the way through my problem-fixing and I ran into an obstacle. I think it's something I will be able to deal with later this morning because whatever I'm doing now is just running me in circles. What I had hoped to download from my camera card is yet to be, so please stay tuned.
