"Enjoy All the Miracles of Spring
Hello, Stampers!
I've been wanting to play with the cat dies that have been released through Poppy Stamps - and this particular die comes in more than one size!
(BTW, I made a video of this card, but it hasn't finished uploading yet (boo!); I'll insert it here as soon as it's finished.)

"Colorful, Happy Day
As I was putting away some new washi tape, I realized how cute the packaging was. I knew I could combine it with some great Memory Box products to create something fun and colorful. So, here is what I created:
by Patter Cross for Memory Box |
Memory Box Papers: licorice cs and notecard, squash gingham, used white side of misc. retired paper
Memory Box Dies: Virtuoso Music 98356
Memory Box Stamp: Wishing You Combo B1853
Stamp Ink: Archival Ink jet black
Embellishments: Blue Fern Studios Icon Set One painted with gesso and Jenni Bowlin lemon drops dabber paint; Prima Overature C and Soubrette pink/orange flowers; teal flower from Wild Orchid Crafts; Zva Creative white flowers; Golden black gesso; misc. ribbon; misc. packaging; sewing machine
Memory Box Stamp: Wishing You Combo B1853
Stamp Ink: Archival Ink jet black
Embellishments: Blue Fern Studios Icon Set One painted with gesso and Jenni Bowlin lemon drops dabber paint; Prima Overature C and Soubrette pink/orange flowers; teal flower from Wild Orchid Crafts; Zva Creative white flowers; Golden black gesso; misc. ribbon; misc. packaging; sewing machine
I cut the packaging into strips and layered them onto the white side of a piece of retired Memory Box paper. I then used my sewing machine to sew between the strips of paper and splattered on some black gesso. While that was drying, I stamped the Memory Box Wishing You Combo stamp (B1853) onto a piece of Memory Box squash gingham paper using black ink. I also die cut the Memory Box Virtuoso Music die (98356) onto Memory Box licorice cardstock. I then adhered the music die cut at the bottom of the colored pieces, wrapped some yellow ribbon round the paper, and attached the entire piece to a Memory Box licorice notecard. Lastly, I added some embellishments and the sentiment to finish the card.
I don't know about you but both music and bright colors make me happy so hopefully this card will brighten someone elses day too. Thanks for stopping by!"
It's been quite a weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed the Washi Tape card class on Saturday taught by Marj Marion & Dianne Johnson at Art n' Soul. The new washi tape we ordered in for the class has been flying out the door, as well as the new papers from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection. I said I'd have pics for you but not tonight . . . between the full days with Cecilia, preparing family dinners for 6 to 11 people each night, and the loss of an hour when we switched to daylight savings time today, I don't have the energy. I'll be back tomorrow, I promise!
P.S. If you're interested in signing up for Deb Kuttel's Zentangle class the last weekend of this month, she will schedule a second class on Sunday afternoon, March 24, if there are enough sign-ups. The Saturday class is full, so please stop in or call the store to sign up for the second class on the 24th . . . you'll love it!

See you tomorrow night!
