Tomorrow is Play Day at Art 'n Soul. At last, there is a Play Day I can be at the store for. My dilemma:  what do I want to play with? There are too many choices running through my mind. Come to the store anytime between 10:30 and 4:30 to play . . . and it's free!

One of the favorite paper collections I saw at CHA is My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Halloween collection. I always love their Lost & Found series . . . remember last year's Christmas papers? Well, the Lost & Found Halloween papers are just as beautiful!

I'm unable to find the pics I took at CHA because they might have better shown the orange glitter and colors, but I'm sure you get the idea from their website.

I have about 600+ photos to go through from the show trip, so I have a bit of work to do before I can start sharing with you. In the meantime . . .

Flower Power!

IMG_9282

"One of the best techniques you can use with the four new nature print flowers/leaves from Memory Box is to paint them with Twinkling H2O's, spritz them, and then stamp them onto paper.  The watercolor look works well with the flowers, and who doesn't want a little extra metallic sparkle?
For this card, I used the Whisper Print Daisy (F1863) and loaded it up with Hot Cinnamon, Ginger Peach, and Mallard Twinkling H2O's.  I spritzed the image approximately 3 times with water and then stamped it onto my paper.  I then re-spritzed the flower with more water (but without adding more paint) and stamped it once again.  To finish the flowers, I spritzed it once again and stamped it one more time onto the paper.  You should be able to get 3-4 images after adding the paint once to the stamp.  I hand-painted some grass at the bottom of the flowers with more green paint, allowed the piece to dry, and then I distressed the edges with Old Paper Distress Ink."

Resplendent Thanks
"Next up we have some gorgeous mini albums featuring our new collection Bird Song! There are so many fabulous ways to use Bird Song to create the perfect craft creation. There is such a wonderful variety of designs an colors in this gorgeous new collection. This first project by Kristin Wilson features Bird Song and the Graphic 45 5x8 Altered Art Box. The box opens to reveal an exquisite accordion-fold mini album. You can also see some beautiful uses of the new Graphic 45 Antique Metal Door Pull, Ornate Metal Key Holes and Ornate Metal Keys! This box is simply stunning, right down to the last detail!

I am excited to showcase the Resplendent Rectangles today. They are one of three die set of the Majestic Elements that were chosen as one of the Hot 20 of the current CHA. I love the look of these dies. I think they create gorgeous cards!

  • Scor-Pal® - Scor-Buddy and Scor-Tape
Others:
  • Ink, Blending Tool, re-positionable tape, white cardstock
I started by stamping an image and sentiment from JustRite® Stampers French Frill on white cardstock. The frame was colored with Copic Markers, then the matching frame die from Samantha Walkers new French Frills die set was adhered over the image with re-positionable tape.

Three pieces of white cardstock were cut and embossed with the largest, the second and fourth largest of the Resplendent Rectangles dies.

With the dies still in place over the white cardstock, the edges of the largest die cut were sponged with yellow ink. The second largest die cut was stamped with the Elegant Fronts Background with the same yellow ink. The edges were sponged as well.

SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ -  Foam Adhesive were used to layer the die cuts on top of each other. One Rhinestones from a Sleek Strip Silver Rhinestone strip were adhered in every corner of the second largest rectangle and a piece of Fancy That! Border Bling was adhered on top and on bottom of the sentiment panel.

A 6 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece of white cardstock was scored at 4 1/4", folded in half and cut and embossed with the largest Resplendent Rectangles die to create the card base. The finished card front was adhered over the card base with Scor-Tape as well as liquid glue.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I can't wait to see what you will create with the gorgeous new Majestic Elements dies and the new coordinating Samantha Walker products.
Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles"

From Graphic 45's blog . . . the project shown is beautiful and ten more so in person. If I could have brought it (and the others) home to let you see up close and personal, I would have. This Bird Song collection is going to be one of "the most" beautiful and popular ever!

Next we have another brilliant Bird Song mini album! This one was made by Alberto Juarez and it's incredibly beautiful. The stunning Cherry Blossom paper from Bird Song looks amazing on the cover of this mini. Alberto fussy cut the birds from the Bird Song signature page and combined Graphic 45 Metal Butterflies, Stamped Metal Brads and Ornate Metal Keys to add to the classic vintage style of this mini. It's just breathtaking!

Your Friends at Graphic 45

That's it for me tonight . . . off to do some word puzzles before I fall asleep. I'll be working on the CHA photos so I can share some of the beautiful and interesting sights. I would have blogged more but CHA didn't set up a wi-fi internet connection at the Show and by the time I made it back to the hotel room, I was done for the day. That 100-degree heat wore me out.
Most important! Please don't forget the birthday party on Sunday!
