This is the bonus "take-away" card that was sent home with the students from my White Christmas class yesterday afternoon. It's a tri-fold card that I punched a scalloped circle die through only the first 2 layers. Using the same circle die, I used the blue So-Silk paper for another die-cut of the same size; I also used the next size down circle die for a punch out from white cardstock that I had stamped with the Hero Arts stamp using Memento Ink. I used my special glitter pens in red for the cardinal and the blue for the stars in the sky.

Looking through 2 die-cut scalloped circle openings to the 3rd layer of the card.

Last layer of the card.

This is the Hero Arts stamp I used:

Tomorrow, I'll post a pic of how I completed the card. I hope some of the students will bring in their finished card so I can share their creativity with you. These are very easy cards to make. Try it . . . you'll like it!

I want to thank the students who underwent a marathon session of card-making. The pop-up card took a lot of time, and I had a couple of supply challenges that everyone was extremely gracious about. The best part of the class was seeing Alissa taking part in the class . . . she's looking great! and Anna Joy appears to be running out of room so Alissa is hoping that the end of the month comes soon for Anna's debut.

One of the cards we made used the Memory Box window die. Before the class, Patti had finished a beautiful card that will be part of a boxed set she is making for a United Way holiday raffle.

Patti even added 'snow' on the inside corners
of the windowpane. And don't you love
the beautiful corner die she ordered at Art 'n Soul?

Taking the already 'perfect' card, Patti
added a wreath sticker she bought to give the card its' final touch!
We both agreed it really was the perfect finishing touch that
makes the scene look so 'homey"!

If you haven't taken the time to look through The Artful Stamper catalog, I highly recommend that you do it within the next couple of days because the order is shaping up and will be submitted soon. You can go to their website to look at their stamps (www.artfulstamper.com); however, you will need to click on each image individually so an enlargement pops up that allows you to see the image completely. It's a lot easier to look through the catalog at the store. Either way, we hope you will be enthused with the variety and quality of stamps from The Artful Stamper as Susie and I are.

From Elizabeth Craft Design  . . . I chose this photo because I think several of you purchased the water lilly peel-off.

From Els:  "Background for this card is the Bronze Shimmer Sheetz with alcohol ink and blending solution. Use the side of the Shimmer Sheetz that changes with alcohol ink. Only one side will work! Emboss the Shimmer Sheetz and sand it with a sanding block."

Acetate Snowman Tag
November 14th, 2011 by kelly
"Happy Monday! It’s Kelly here, and I have a week full of projects to share that will show you some fun ways to dress up those holiday packages.

Kraft gift bags and kraft paper are staples in my wrapping supplies. They can be used for any occasion and decorated to fit your needs. Today I have decorated a bag with a this sweet little snowman tag. I used this month’s color challenge as inspiration…such fun non-traditional colors for Christmas!

I love the look of snowflakes stamped on acetate…feels like they are just floating in the air!"

"A tip for stamping on acetate: Tape down the corners of the acetate to your work surface using masking tape before stamping. This will make sure the the acetate doesn’t shift and will help with avoiding smears."

See you back here tomorrow with another tag creation. Have a great day!"

Susie brought in a 'pointalism' card from an Outlines Rubber Stamp that make a perfect fall card.

by Susie Tracy

This is such a versatile stamp from Outlines . . .
last year, Deb K. had zentangled it for her Zentangle class . . . remember?

And here's another sample card from the store . . .

by Dianne Johnson

Clever how Dianne used the left-over leaf punchouts from the border punch to
scatter on the card. And she used her 'signature' product . . . Candi!

That's it for tonight. I have more to share with you tomorrow!
