Reminder that Elaine's class using encaustic wax for landscape art is this Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00. Here are a couple sample ideas from Elaine. It's unbelievable what you can do with wax, a little heat and an imaginative and skilled artist as an instructor!

And remember to put next Friday, August 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on your calendar . . . it's TRADING DAY at Art 'n Soul. We've all collected far more than we need in playing cards, cocktail napkins, and special papers after taking a class where we learned creative ways to use them. I don't know about you, but there are only so many playing cards I am interested in cutting apart (there ARE 52 cards in a deck) and I went overboard in purchasing various deck designs. And then there are the cocktail napkins . . . I can't pass up looking at any cocktail napkins without thinking about how to use them for art (thanks, Marj!). If my piggy bank is full, it's a bad combination when I look at those napkins! Now we can all "browse" and it won't cost a penny!
