SPECIAL NOTE:  Art 'n Soul will be closed tomorrow, Sunday. It's been a very active summer season and the team needs a much needed break; and, this one particular Sunday everyone is running every which way. Pam will be at the store on Monday, opening at our normal time of 10 a.m.

Art 'n Soul's INSPIRATION STATION this month features the Handwritten Quotes stamp set by Dina Wakley from Ranger. The quotes are extremely easy to incorporate into just about any kind of card you're making, or any art work in an art journal. The set is available right now at Art 'n Soul.

Today's INSPIRATION STATION project is a dynamic card designed by Marj Marion.

  • Stamp Set:  Handwritten Quotes (MDR 44475) by Dina Wakley for Ranger
  • Kaleidoscope Card Stock by Ken Oliver Crafts (KNO5989)
  • Bling

This is a wonderful "abstract" look for the sentiment quote and fits perfectly with the "magic is something you make."

On the Magenta blog, I wish "wow" would suffice because I know it doesn't. I really like this bokeh effect combined with the Nuance powdered watercolors from Magenta.

Yesterday's Zentangle Club gathering at Art 'n Soul was so much fun. This was my first opportunity to sit in with them and actually work on some doodles. Sharon Wolvin was extremely generous and helpful throughout the meeting. And we talked Debbie Messer into joining us; she was finishing a purchase at the counter and we talked her into it.

"zentangles" by Sharon Wolvin

Sharon is so clever. She printed an outline of the United States of America that also outlined each state within it. She then made sure each state had a different 'zentangle' or doodle design.

I have many, many other pics to share with you but I still need to do some photo editing. In the meantime, I will share a discovery from Elizabeth Holman; she is someone who we've featured on this blog and Elizabeth is totally immersed into the art of zentangling and doodling!

This is a wonderful spiral-bound calendar. It's one of the best things I've seen, and pentangle-enthusiasts will love it. The small-sized calendar (not real small, but a nice travel-size) offers examples and inspiration pages for you to create on. You can find it on Amazon at this link:

Carol's previous year calendars are also available at Amazon as well. I am hitting "purchase" at any moment now.

This is all the time I have to share with you right now; I'm in the middle of canning 75 pounds of very small cucumbers for the best dill pickles, courtesy of my late cousin's special recipe.

Thanks for stopping by!

Is this a happy little one? Yes!
