We've enjoyed a wonderful first weekend of the new year, and we thank you for coming in to re-connect! Those of you who were at Art 'n Soul on Saturday had the joy of meeting our newest member of the Art 'n Soul team, Carolyn Gough. Carolyn will be working Saturday's. She is in the midst of training but we expect her to be on her own in short order because she is totally sailing through it all!

Great news! Art 'n Soul is now on Facebook. Pam has worked very hard developing our presence. Some of you have already "liked" us. Search "Art 'n Soul Lacey" for our page . . . there are other Art 'n Soul entities on Facebook and adding Lacey to the search terms will certainly bring you to the right page! So watch for our posts to quickly find out what's happening "at that moment".

More great news! Marj has added a second class since the first "Pan Pastels Techniques" class has filled up. Please sign up as soon as you can. "PAN PASTEL TECHNIQUES"--Marj Marion  $30

You've recovered from the holidays, now it's time to relax and make some art!

Join Marj for a great technique class using Pan Pastels. This wonderful medium is very creamy, and oh, so wonderfully easy for blending, creating backgrounds, and special stamping techniques. You will learn about the new metallic colors, the colorless blender, and how to use water for a different look. We'll make three finished cards plus three card tops to complete at home. This class is packed with fun and creative energy, and is suitable for beginners and more advanced stampers alike. Students may bring their own Pan Pastels and tools if desired, but Marj will provide adequate supplies. Please label your own supplies, and bring your basic kit and a small trimmer if possible. Note: we use a 

sealer with this medium, and low odor spray will be used in the back room,
so you are advised of this in advance.

John Petersen's "Record Your Memories" class is on Saturday, January 17. You really have to see the actual sample at the store. I've added a couple more photos to try and give you a glimpse of how special this project is. I have a friend who is an 'old record' aficionado and this will make the perfect gift; I'll need to use different colors to better suit him. You're taking an old record box set that John has collected over time . . . remember those? It was the outside box, inside box and the records inside individual sleeves. All of these treasured items will be refinished, embellished and personalized. This is a project that will not be available anywhere else that I know of. If you've taken John's classes at Art 'n Soul, you know his creativity and your creativity make an awesome combination . . . John really helps you make 'for real' that which is in your imagination.

I have featured Finnabar on the blog before when I've been at the trade show, CHA. Her art is prominently featured in the Prima booth and is jaw-dropping fabulous; it's her texture pastes that John will be bringing to the class, among other Prima products.
