Art 'n Soul's Annual Christmas Party
Sunday, October 19, from 1:00 to 4:00
PLEASE JOIN US!

As you would expect, all of us taking John Petersen's "Piano Hinge Book" class yesterday had a fun, fun time. It always amazes me how beautiful the class project ends up from the ordinary.

we didn't use gloves to ink up our book covers
with StazOn . . . but most everyone gloved up to
ink up the skewers for the binding! everyone loved
getting their ink on!
And this is what happened with the book covers after embossing, inking, and covering with Ice Resin™. What you see are the front and back covers while they were setting.

Everyone commented on how different each of the book covers look. I have to wait to take a photo of mine because glare from the overhead lighting was too much; I'll also be able to show you pics of the binding itself too. The photos do not reveal how truly beautiful these book covers are!

John's next class at Art 'n Soul is an adorable bezel accordion book . . . Saturday, November 8. Call the store to sign up (360.357.6820) or stop in. I'm really sorry to miss this class because of a trip to visit my sister-in-law that week.

Saturday, November 8, 12pm to 4pm, “BEZEL BOOK
John Petersen  $30
Sometimes the best things are found in small packages – and that’s the idea
behind this mini book! The book covers of this book are bezels, filled with your
favorite Prima embellishments and other found objects. Carry your creativity
over to the inside pages of this bezel book to personalize this keepsake.

Heather Telford never ceases to amaze us. She is using Frisket Film for her moon mask which is intriguing. Check out this watercolor technique using Penny Black stamps.

My sweet husband will be bringing the Halloween embellishments (enamel dots and brads) from My Mind's Eye to Art 'n Soul tomorrow. The lightweight 17 lb. Reich vellum that is perfect for the Hasty Lace templates is at the store now; fortunately, we now have a good back supply ready.
