Wow! What a fabulous birthday celebration this afternoon at Art 'n Soul. Unlike the last two years, we enjoyed fabulous weather . . . the sun shone outside and it really shined inside the store.

Tamara Hyde (left) is our new featured Artist-of-the-
Month, who was visiting with another fabulous
artist friend of Art 'n Soul, Gloria Walker (right).
I'll show some of Tamara's work on display
at the store on a later post; in the meantime,
don't forget to take some time to look it over
the next time you're at the store.

John Creighton Petersen demo'd the new
StazOn Midi's (new smaller case size and new
colors), GlazOn, Sheet Metal ATC Cards, and the
Metallic StazOn for a terrific make-n-take!
IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko products are the best.

The B-E-S-T cupcakes in the world! Special thanks
to Kristi Weeks of Sweet Abandon for personally
delivering these delish treats for our
birthday celebration!

Maggie Crawford, Millsrepco, demo'd
the Silks Super Fine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft
Designs, as well as their embossing folders
and Shimmer Sheetz.

Helene Metivier of Magenta was so happy to
be with us to celebrate our 11th birthday!

Helene (left) met Jeanie Garrity of Tacoma who asked
if there was a stamp from a card she saw on display
at the store. It turns out the 'stamp' was actually
a peel-off sticker used a few years back, and
Jeanie asked Helene if it might be possible to
make the peel-off design into a rubber stamp.
Voile!
Jeanie just moved to Tacoma from Wenatchee
and she was so excited to discover Art 'n Soul.
Our thanks to Sharon Wolvin for introducing Jeanie to us.

Sandy Jackson, Some-Assembly-Required and Hasty Lace, demo'd
her beautiful Hasty Lace designs and technique. We're so happy
that Sandy will be back at Art 'n Soul on Saturday, August 9,
to teach 2 classes. If you haven't signed up, please stop by
the store or call us at (360) 357-6820 to register.

Kevin Nakagawa wasn't at the party, but he was kind enough to rush
a special order to the store of his Stampscapes designs. As part
of the birthday festivities, Stampscapes is 'open catalog', so if there
is a stamp that you like from Kevin's designs not available
at the store, you may place an order now.

All-in-all, it was a terrific celebration, only because of the many long-time and new friends and customers who took the time to stop into the store and share it all with us. Words alone will never convey our appreciation for the wonderful customers who show their loyalty and friendship each and every day. We would not be celebrating 11 years without you!

I'll have much more to share with you this week, so please 'stay tuned.' In the meantime, stop in at Art 'n Soul over the next few days. Dianne will be there through Wednesday; as tired as she was tonight, she'll be right back tomorrow with her enthusiasm for all we do at Art 'n Soul with the great products we feature and sell.

And by the way, all 12x12 papers and pads from Authentique are on a 35% discount. All other 12x12 papers and pads from other companies are on a 25% discount. The exceptions are:
  • the new Eerie Tales collection from Graphic 45 in 12x12, 8x8 pads and 6x6 background pads
  • the new Strawberry Fields collection from Webster's Pages in 12x12
  • the new Market Street 6x6 pads from My Mind's Eye

With the fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday releases that will start to ship in another month or two, we need to make room. So pleeeeeeze help . . . we'd really appreciate it.

Tomorrow, I'll also have pics of the new papers from Agi Werner, former owner of Paper Parachute. She made an extra small run of papers she designed recently and brought them to Art 'n Soul on Saturday. Everyone who took Agi's classes on Saturday loved the papers and how they were used . . . don't miss out!

Check out this card from Artist-in-Residence Taylor Usry. She's using IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko's Encore! Metallic inks!

In this blog posting from Impression Obsession, Jenny Gropp has made a card combining the stamp design and zentangling! That would be right up our alley at Art 'n Soul!

Impression Obsession is still open catalog from the birthday party, so if this card design and/or stamp inspires you, come on over or call us to order the stamp.

That's all for tonight . . . or should I say 'this morning.' We'll see you back here some time tomorrow night. Sleep well!
