To allow our Art 'n Soul staff to enjoy the Thanksgiving Day holiday with family and friends, the store will be closed tomorrow. We'll be open at 10 a.m. on Friday morning  . . .

It's coming this Friday . . .

Saturday, November 30, brings us SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY. Buyers are being asked to promote and shop local and at small businesses, like Art 'n Soul. If you're an American Express card holder, even better!
November 30 is Small Business Saturday, sponsored by American Express. It’s a day set aside to show your support for small business. If you have an American Express card, beginning November 24, you can register online at this American Express site: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/Shop-Small/. Once you register, if you come in to any participating small business (which Art ’n Soul is) on the 30th, and spend at least $10 in a single transaction, you will get a one time credit on your account of $10. You don’t have to have an American Express card to support Art ’n Soul on this day though, we would love to see you here!

On December 3, it's Turquoise Tuesday at Art 'n Soul. You'll have to stop in at the store and see Dianne for the details. And while you're there, she'll be demonstrating a neat project made with the Envelope Punch Board. You won't want to miss Dianne's demo.

We had to move Linda Long's "Crack's Beneath our Feet" class from this Saturday, November 30, to Saturday, December 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While Linda's at Art 'n Soul, she will also conduct a Trunk Show for her Lost Coast Designs stamps that we all love to stamp with, especially in journals and to make washi tape. If you haven't signed up for the class, please do. This is going to be a wonderful class.

Saturday, December 14, 10:00-5:00 p.m. – Linda of Lost Coast
CRACKS BENEATH OUR FEET”, $50

by Linda Long, Lost Coast Designs

Remember finding objects in cloud shapes?  Now we'll find what lies in the cracks in the sidewalk? Spend a fun day creating your own imaginary animals inspired by the world's mundane cracks/blobs/spats. No artist skill required!  We'll explore different medias and techniques to see the world from a new angle.  Bring a mixed-media journal if you have one.  I'll bring sheets of mixed-media paper if you don't have one.  Also bring a pencil and eraser, and any fine-tip black drawing pens, e.g., Farber Pitt or Micron, and maybe your favorite coloring tools.  I'll bring some Copic markers, assorted color pencils and crayons, some dove blenders, and Pan Pastels, so don't buy anything special.  You'll get to experiment with a lot of colors and see what you like best.  If you have a portable light table, please bring it.   I'll bring some Golden glazes, gesso, and dictionary pages so we can do a bit of collage, too.
This is an all-day, drop-in class, so if you are busy in the morning, or need to leave in the afternoon, that's fine, or hang out with us the entire time :-)"

Because Linda moved her class date, I've agreed to do a "Last Minute Dash" Christmas card class at Art 'n Soul on Thursday, December 12, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. This is one of the card samples -- all 3 cards and the bonus card will be simple and easy to make.

I also agreed to demo the We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch Board on Friday, December 6, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. You can also try your hand at it during the Demo. The best news is that we've made special arrangements with We R Memory Keepers to purchase the Punch Board and we're hoping they will be here by Demo Day; if not, you can reserve a board from the order we've placed. We feel quite fortunate that our order was accepted because they are sold out everywhere . . . Stephenson Darling, our Account Representative, told me that its acceptance has exceeded their expectations, just like the Envelope Punch Board. The timing couldn't be more perfect with all of the packaging I need to do for the holidays. I love gift bags but I'm not always happy with the selection that's available. Now, I'll be able to make my own!

The crochet net ribbon was finally back in stock and is now available in several colors at Art 'n Soul.

Also at the store are the satin cut-out ribbons, including the moose that sold out almost immediately. The candy-cane ribbon won't be at the store until Monday because it was somehow left out of the box that I dropped off at the store this morning.

There isn't a day that I don't offer a prayer of thanks for the many blessings I receive each day in my little world. Tomorrow, our entire country will celebrate a day of Thanksgiving with family and friends. Thanksgiving Day is the one day in the year that we 'formally' recognize the independence and freedom we enjoy as citizens and residents of the United States of America because of the pilgrims who bravely ventured away from England to form a new country. We celebrate and acknowledge the brave men and women in uniform who protect our freedoms here at home and on deployments overseas. And we celebrate the love of family and friends.

From all of us at Art 'n Soul, we wish you and yours a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. You give so much to us each day of the year through your patronage, support and loyalty. For that, and your friendship in art, we thank you.

Hannah is thankful for all of the
hours she is able to nap the the day away
in preparation for her long night's sleep.
