HALLOWEEN MAGIC -- Debbie Gaetz
Saturday, October 26, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
$30
You'll make Halloween Magic with 3 cards. IMAGINE Crafts® new Vertigo™ will be used for one of the cards, as well as Elizabeth Crafts Designs' Shimmer Sheetz, new Halloween word stamps from Impression Obsession . . . all to make your afternoon a fun spooky time! Samples of the cards will be at Art 'n Soul on October 15. Please bring your basic class kit to include detail cutting scissors.
Everyone has always loved the design papers from Memory Box. I opened a box and there was a stash I had tucked away . . . unfortunately, Dave isn't designing new papers for Memory Box because their die designs are taking so much of his time. This 'treasured stash' will be at Art 'n Soul later today as well, along with Halloween 12x12 papers from Authentique!
Penny Black's blog shows this beautifully simple Christmas card by Elizabeth Alan.
"Christmas Cutting with Elizabeth
We have a special treat for you…our Christmas Cutting (die cutting that is) event! Over the next two weeks, visit our blog daily for holiday inspiration and ideas using our Creative Dies. You can view and shop our complete collection of our Creative dies HERE.
Our Creative Dies can be used as elegant embellishments for your cards. Look at this faux metal embellishment Elizabeth has created using 51-020 Fancy Flourish.
Here’s how she created this look:
First die cut Fancy Flourish from thin cardboard. Pounce the die cut with VersaMark Watermark ink and then alternately sponge on Rich Gold and Bronze PanPastels. Permanent Green Pan Pastel can be added as well for a verdigris patina. Finally, spray with matte clear acrylic coating to seal the piece.
Just imagine the possibilities with this wonderful technique!"

When Emily Cates and Linda McMullen with Millsrepco sponsored a Hero Arts Make 'n Take Demo Day at Art 'n Soul a few months ago, they featured the Hero Arts' Leafy Vines stamp, which was an extremely popular stamp ordered by many customers. In this blog posting, someone else has used that same stamp a different way. Be sure to click on the links to see how this and another card are made with that beautiful Leafy Vines stamp.

"And finally Karin Akesdotter, with a stunning birthday card inspired by this card by Jennifer McGuire. The Leafy Vines makes a fabulous backdrop for her sentiment focal point and we just love her pretty flowers. And don’t you think that with just a simple change of sentiment, this would make a fabulous Christmas card too! Those flowers could easily become poinsettias."
