This afternoon from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Marj will be demonstrating techniques using glitter with the Dreamweaver Stencils. We invite you to stop in for the demo, especially if you've ever experienced the 'treat' of applying a simple and different technique when using stencils. And when Marj demo's, there will be door prize drawings.

These 3 card samples are on a board at Art 'n Soul. They showcase the use of Dreamweaver Stencils, especially with the addition of zentangling!

It's been confirmed that Lynell Harlow, owner and designer of Dreamweaver Stencils, will be demo'ing stencil techniques at Art 'n Soul this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Joining Lynell will be Wayne, her husband, who brought zentangling to Dreamweaver Stencils.

Penny Black has been doing a "you've been spotted" on their blog. I wanted to share a couple of those with you because I really liked their style when they used Penny Black products.

From Spellbinders, here's a post for the art journaling enthusiasts!

"I have been concentrating on how to utilize my dies into my art journal and am having such a great time finding creative ways to do just that.  We are always looking for ways to add texture to our pages and with the newNestabilities® Imperial Gold Enhancing Elements it made this possible.  These new dies do not have outside cutting lines that means that I can use them as textures without cutting the page.  Take a look at how I created this page with these beautiful dies.

When I was at the store today, I glanced through the new Magenta catalog. Inside I found some wonderful cards pictured in the catalog that I wanted to share with you. The catalog is there for you to browse through and take a better look at these card photos.

You'll notice that several of the cards are credited to Mimi a La Carte. That is the fabulous store that Helene took Susie and I to when we were in Montreal to visit Magenta. They feature Magenta stamps at Mimi's. Helene has taken classes at Mimi's and has also taught classes there. If you're ever in Montreal, Quebec, please do yourself a favor and visit Mimi a La Carte!

I'm looking forward to seeing some of you at Art 'n Soul tomorrow. There are lots of new Dreamweaver Stencils that arrived at Art 'n Soul over the weekend and will be displayed on the back table all week. As you well know, the 'early bird' gets the best selection and it will be to your advantage to come in tomorrow to see which new stencils you would like to add to your collection. I did!

See you tomorrow!

Here's this week's Dreamweaver plan . . .

  • Tuesday, August 6, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. -- Marj will demonstrate a fun, "double glitter" technique. Come by on your lunch hour and have a look. There will be drawings for door prizes, and you can ask Marj about stenciling questions you might have!
  • Tuesday, August 6 All Day -- Dianne will demonstrate how easy and fun it is to zentangle with Dreamweaver Stencils.

  • Wednesday, August 7 All Day -- Dianne will continue to demonstrate how easy and fun it is to zentangle with Dreamweaver Stencils.

  • Thursday, August 8, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. --  Marj will highlight some of the artistic and fun techniques using Stencil Pastes. Bring any questions you have, and have a chance at the drawings for door prizes.

  • Saturday, August 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. -- Lynell Harlow, owner and designer of Dreamweaver Stencils will be at Art 'n Soul to demonstrate the various techniques she uses with Dreamweaver Stencils. An extra bonus is that she also is bringing her husband, Wayne! He's the one who started zentangling inside the Dreamweaver Stencils and Wayne will be at Art 'n Soul to demonstrate how he zentangles his way with Dreamweaver! And I know both will be more than happy to answer questions you might have about the stencils, dies and techniques!
