It's nice to be back! My only challenge now is the ability to add photos from my camera card; I'm able to download photos from emails though.

So . . .

There are new and re-stocked stencils from Dreamweaver at Art 'n Soul. Many of them are easy to zentangle within the design openings. Look at that cute little fox and the cute elephant parade! Check 'em out!

New Karen Lockhart stamps are also waiting for you; Karen's stamps are always fun to work with.

The latest "must have" product at Art 'n Soul . . . Silk Acrylic Paints from Luminarte. We've been very fortunate to purchase this product from Splash of Color; I mention Splash of Color because they have been so diligent with our orders. These Silks will be used in Helene's first Magenta class on Thursday morning (10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), and repeated again next Monday evening (5:30 to 8:00 p.m.). There are a couple of spots left in the Thursday morning class, too. Let us know which time slot works best for you because you're going to want to learn how to use this fabulous new medium for Art 'n Soul. We've sold most of the first order; and Splash of Color is rushing a second order so it will be here in time for Thursday's class!

The Magenta classes are very full, but a few spots might be available if you call asap! (360.357.6820). Each class is only $30. We've always learned new techniques from Helene; she's quite the artist and students always want 'more, more, more!' classes from Helene. Here's your chance if you haven't signed up yet.

  • Thursday, May 16 (morning class) 10am-12:30pm AND Monday, May 20 (afternoon class) 5:30pm - 8:00pmHelene from Magenta –Mixed Media on Wood $30 -- Join this class for a fun and easy way to create little but gorgeous and innovative pieces of art. Use mixed media techniques together with decorative papers, acrylic paints, and stamps to create your own art treasures. Students will practice first on thick cardboard and will ultimately make a small wooden framed creation.   Four to five pieces of art will ultimately be created, all different, and all at a student’s own pace. Please check the inspiring examples at the store to get an idea of what you can accomplish.
  • Thursday, May 16 (afternoon class) 1:30-4pm, Helene from Magenta –Make More With Your Stamps $30 -- Look what you can do with one stamp! In this class Helene helps you see what you can do with one stamp – and see it many different ways!  She will incorporate a new product (surprise for now), but you will be amazed at how it shimmers and is transparent all at the same time…..without covering up what is underneath. If you can’t quite believe it, see the beautiful samples at the store! You will make 4 cards . . . the examples at the store are for inspiration of what you can accomplish.
  • Thursday, May 16 (evening class) 5-8pm, Helene from Magenta – Funky Flower $30 -- What an incredible class! Students will learn several unusual techniques but will basically use a new Magenta stamp in the process. Inks, masques, acrylic paints, embossing powders, you name it!  Please bring a flat ½ - ¾” brush, a Ranger foam applicator (not felt), and a Mini-Mister or something equivalent to it. Helene will supply the rest. Please see the samples at the store to get an idea of what you can accomplish in this session. You will make 4 cards.
