Happy May Day! What flowers, paper or real, are you going to secretly leave somewhere to brighten their day? If you need to make a last-minute 'floral' card to leave instead, hop on over to Art 'n Soul where you'll find everything you need . . . flower stamps, beautiful inks, flowery designed and other brightly colored papers . . . and Dianne who will happily show you how to put it all together!

Patti Ritterhouse shared these beautiful cards she made, the first one using the new papers from SEI's Diane collection.

Over the last week, I've said new papers were in and I'd post the photos . . . the 12x12 papers are from SEI's Diane Collection and KaiserCraft's Elegance Collection, and they're absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks to a customer request, we have brought in adhesive-backed lace trim paks in both white and cream from Hero Arts . . . and some nice 8.5 x 11 card stock in spring colors.

From Elizabeth Craft Designs, Els makes a card featuring some of her new dies!

by Els for Elizabeth Craft Designs
"Another NEW DIE! I had a lot of fun creating these gifts! The die comes with one solid gift, three different overlays, the bow and a lid. So many possibilities! I used Shimmer Sheetz, card stock and our Silk Microfine Glitter on the double sided adhesive." -- Els

"Jasper Leaves

by Pam Sparks for Memory Box

hello everyone!  I could hardly wait to show you this card! I love how it turned out!  It just screams Spring... the grass is greening up so nicely but this a.m. we had some huge snowflakes for a bit...so pretty!
Two awesome new dies from Memory Box, Jasper Leaves and Hello.
I also used Fancy Blossoms, Poppystamps Birdcage and Nestled Bird.
I used Memory Box Key Lime Dots, Key Lime Gingham, Pool, Pool Moroccan, Parchment and Meadow card-stocks.
A 5 1/2 in. square card
Have a lovely day and thank you so much for looking!  Enjoy your dies!"

Now I have to also show you this card sample also from the Memory Box blog. Why? I didn't know if I wanted this particular base floral die and overlay die; Dianne insisted that I would want it. She's right!

"Birthday Chrysanthemums

Here is a card and gift box combo for you today.  Recently, a dear friend had a birthday and I took her to Benihana's for dinner---it's our tradition.  It seemed appropriate to use the Asian themed dies for her card and gift box (with chocolate truffles inside).
by Jenny Griffiths for Memory Box
While the chicken fried rice was being prepared, she showed these to the other guests at our table who wanted to know all about card making --even the men (must be a tool thing).   We could have had a mini class right there!
It was fun choosing different papers to use with the chrysanthemum dies--I played with solids and patterns using the outline and background dies until I found my favorites.  The Clever Koi and lanterns were a perfect fit on the small take out box --it's just the right size for a small treat.  Watch for these in an upcoming class in San Diego!
Materials:
98566 Prized Chrysanthemum Outline
98630 Prized Chrysanthemum Background
98318 Meadow Dragonfly
98600 Paper Lanterns
98560 Clever Koi
98521 Small Take Out Box
CS1910B Happy Birthday Special Combo
D1363 Spring Branch
10119 6x6 Brioche paper pack

Come on in and check out the Memory Box dies at Art 'n Soul.

From Inchie Arts . . . we have a nice supply of Inchie Arts' Art Boards. They're fabulous to work on. The material is high quality and water color techniques can be applied directly onto the board surface (just make sure you're using the correct side -- the smooth side).

We just ask that you sign up so we know how many people to prepare for. We'll even have some edible treats!

at Art 'n Soul on May 25 from 1:30 to 3:30
It will be open catalog for Hero Arts that day, and Emily can answer any questions you might have about Hero Arts' products, some of the various techniques that they've shown on their website and other products she's using to make this luscious card. We're so excited that Emily is taking time from her very busy schedule to 'hang out and create' at Art 'n Soul on May 25!

I'll be back tomorrow . . . I promise!

P.S. White, black and gray Prismatic papers are on their way to Art 'n Soul! I say this so Pam N. can see we'll finally have that white Prismatic paper she's been asking for . . . but take special note, all of the Prismatic paper colors from Bazzill Paper Products have been retired and no more are being produced. When they come in, get 'em while they're here! Stay tuned . . .
