NinaB Designs January Blog Hop
"Welcome to the NinaB Designs* first team blog hop of 2013! We hope you have had a relaxing holiday break and ready to join us for another year of inspirations and prizes!
*NinaB Designs is a product designer for a few paper crafting companies including Spellbinders, Want2Scrap and Penny Black, and The Craft's Meow.
For this month's hop, Nina challenged the team to create a project with the LOVE theme, which can be interpreted in many ways: Valentine, Anniversary and Friendship.
by Linda Lucas |
I have created a set of cards, including a birthday card - LOVE is not just limited to Valentine's - we all love to show it in many ways during the year, sometimes for no reason at all - spontaneous...
by Linda Lucas |
For my sets of cards I have used Nina's set TCM Flower Garden Stamp, cutting the flowers out and popping them up on foam tape for some added dimension. I have also used Spellbinders™ Wavy Rectangles Nestabilities® and Classic Ovals LG Nestabilities®, the sentiment from the TCM Sew Happy stamp set is cut out using theRibbon Banners Shapeabilities. My bling is from Want2Scrap
by Linda Lucas |
For my second card I have layered the flowers into Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities®and Fancy Tags Three Shapeabilities®
by Linda Lucas |
My final card has a flower layered onto Floral Ovals Nestabilities® and Grommet Tags Shapeabilities®. All of my bling is from Want2Scrap."
Here are the products I used for my cards:
TCM Flower Garden Stamp set
TCM Sew Happy stamp set
Sympathy Collage
'We all have certain stamps that we love and seem to reach for - our 'go to' stamps. One of the things I love is using them differently.
by Linda Lucas |
I have endeavored to do that with the Mixed Media image from Penny Black® Inc.
This is a square image, it is stamped using Tsukineko Jet Back Versafine Ink and have cut it using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine and the Standard Circles LGNestabilities®. It has been coloured it using Tsukineko Memento Markers.
The flowers are some I collected from one of our Thrift Shops, they had fallen off a stem and I knew they would be perfect for cards - the Attendant at the Shop thought I was crazy when I asked how much they were - she gave them to me - it is true that 'one mans junk is another man's treasure' not that these are junk by anyone's standard! LOL!
The sentiment is from the JustRite® Stampers Large Fancy Sentiments stamp set.

One of the exciting releases at CHA is the Spellbinders 3D M-Bossabilities; I believe they start shipping in March. Here are a couple of videos for you to learn more about them. Note that they are using Tsukineko's Delicata ink for the letterpress technique; Delicata is one of my absolute favorite inks!
The card they are showing is the same card I showed on the blog yesterday from Heidi Blankenship. You'll love the possibilities with the 3D M-Bossabilities . . . they are introducing 6 new designs. I'm definitely going to 'get in line' and order these from Art 'n Soul.

Sylvia Blum: Thinking of You & Wishing You Happiness |
Hi everyone and welcome to the Spellbinders Blog. It's Sylvia here with my first post in 2013. Have you seen the sneak peeks of all the wonderful new Spellbinders™ products? Aren't they amazing? I totally adore them! Unfortunately my new lovelies did not arrive until today, so I am going to show you a card that I've made with some "oldies, but goodies", today.
Spellbinders™ Paper Arts Supplies:
Die cut the Venetian decorative frame circle and a small circle from green patterned paper.
Because the die from the Venetian Motifs set is very intricate, I would suggest to use wax paper between the die and the patterned paper and to run it twice through the Grand Calibur®.
Tip: Once you've cut it, it can be helpful to carefully use a paper piercing tool to release the paper from the die
Step 2:
Die cut the patterned papers that will be your card base using the dies from the Nestabilities Card Creator "A-2 Matting Basics B"
Step 3:
Distress all edges of the die cut papers using dark brown inks
Step 4:
On your second card layer, create some faux stitching by using a ruler, a paper piercing tool and a white gel pen;
Stamp sentiment onto the smallest circle and assemble everything using dimensional foam adhesive
Step 5:
Embellish your card with ribbon, a decorative pearl pin and some pearls and you are done
Spellbinders™ Paper Arts Supplies:
- GC-001 Grand Calibur® Machine
- S5-132 Nestabilities Card Creator "A-2 Matting Basics B"
