Poppystamps, their affiliate, is also offering new dies and stamps. I love the cats and dogs! Cat dies disappear rather quickly at Art 'n Soul!
Susie's leading the way with her pink sheet in the making as we speak. I'm making my list . . . please make your list and write up a 'pink' sheet order. We'd like to send an order in before December 31 and we will only order pre-paid orders on this initial one. They're shipping the new releases right after the first of the year! If you can't make it in, please feel free to call the store and place your order over the phone at 360.357.6820! Speaking of Memory Box and Poppystamps, here are some ideas from them . . . |
New Year in the City
"If the 25th is approaching too quickly for you - opt out of Christmas cards and make New Year cards instead. They're sure to be noticed - and appreciated!
The Cityscape Silhouette, Cityscape Nightline and Parker Number Set Dies are the perfect way to welcome 2013.
The silver circle behind the numbers is from the Blooming Rosette and Center Set. I've included it - and a completed rosette - here for reference. I'll be using the rosette on another New Year card. It's the perfect rosette die because it makes either a petaled rosette - or a classic medallion with a straight edge. It also scores the paper instead of perforating it - so you can trim it to create a smaller rosette too.
A bit of Ocean Spray Glitter from Clearsnap adds sparkly highlights."
Merry Christmas All!
"With Christmas just a few days away, I'd like to share one more Christmas card while wishing you the joy of family, the happines of friends, and the love of Christmas.
I designed this card to double as an ornament. Simply detach the center framed sentiment, die cut an additional Cherise Label to adhere on the reverse side and add a decorative ribbon to the top loop to hang on your Christmas tree.
- G1790 Poinsettia Stem
- C1873 Vintage Merry Christmas
- 98401 Tiffany Frame Die
- 98402 Cherise Label Die
- Vanilla Bean Gingham paper
- 77896 Currant moroccan paper
Be sure to tell the recipient about the ornament possibilities!
Happy Friday!"
Oh Christmas tree....
Hello everyone,
"I am Mary Russo, the newest member of the Memory Box design team. I've always loved Memory Box products and am really looking forward to sharing some of my projects with you here. I work at a great paper crafting store in Westford, Massachusetts called Ink About It. I also teach classes there and will be adding some new Memory Box classes after the first of the year. I live in Massachusetts with my husband Joe and our three boys. I've been stamping and paper crafting for years and have always been a "crafty" person. I am an avid scrapbooker and will be sharing scrapbook pages here too.
My first project is a card I made for the holiday season this year. The flowering Christmas tree die has always been one of my favorites and I wanted to try something a little different with it. I cut the tree out twice and later it over itself with small foam dots. It gives the card a beautiful dimensional quality that really makes it stand out.
The detail pictures below capture the layering a little better.
Instructions -
- Stamp Hope Collage (G1732) several times with Brilliance Starlite Silver ink onto a cranberry note card to cover the background. This does not need to be perfect as the tree covers most of it.
- Ink the edges of the card with the same silver ink pad.
- Put a piece of decorative tape on the left side of the card.
- Cut 2 Flowering Christmas Trees (98167) out of white card stock.
- Cut one Star of Wonder (98195) from silver glittered paper.
- Adhere one of the trees to the card.
- Adhere the star to the top of the tree on the card. Note that if you adhere the star side-ways, it won't stick off the top of the card like mine. I'm not mailing this one and liked it better this way.
- Put foam dots behind the flowers on the remaining tree and layer it over the tree on the card.
- I used a black Viva pearl pen to make the dimensional flower centers on my card.
- I fashioned the pot that my tree is in using an older punch that I have using the same glittered card stock I used on the star. The punch makes and index tab that I cut in half to make the pot. I then adhered it with foam tape. You could hand cut a bucket shape from card stock to get the same look.
- Spray the card with shimmery spray to make it even more sparkly.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my project and are having fun doing some holiday crafting of your own."
-Mary

These certainly are the days of rush and catch-up . . . cards, Santa's list, decorations, baking, shopping and triple the amount of traffic on the streets. As I listen to the Michael Buble` Christmas special on television, I'm reminded it's time to move onto a little wrapping since the first family Christmas celebration is on Sunday, but that's after I finalize Sunday's menu!
Tomorrow, I'll show you some beautiful samples of 'thank you' cards that Marj brought to the store this afternoon. She knows that once Christmas Day has passed, it's time to send out the thank you cards and I think her cards will inspire you to make your cards as beautiful as your Christmas cards!
Enjoy the sounds of the holidays . . .
