Play Day at Art 'n Soul is today (Friday)! Grab your project(s) and supplies, and join your Art 'n Soul friends to play with your latest project(s). Whatever it is you're working on will be even more fun with friends! I wish I could join in the fun this afternoon; however, my husband asked me to attend a business luncheon with him in Tacoma; he'll be listening to the business while I gawk at the cars at the LeMay Car Museum where the luncheon is being held.

This afternoon while driving home from the grocery store, I looked up at the sky and thought the never-before-seen cloud formations reminded me of a billowing quilt. I had to find a spot to pull over and take a photo with my iPhone . . . of course, the pattern I saw was a little more defined but I hope you get the idea of what I was seeing.

  2. Trim a piece of Serenade pattern paper to measure 4 x 5 1/4 inches.
  3. Trim another piece of Serenade pattern paper to measure 1 1/2 inches.
  4. Stamp onto the piece of pattern paper that measures 1 1/2 inches with Wet Cement ink to create a custom background pattern paper.
  5. Trim another two pieces of pattern paper, one measuring 1/4 inch and another big enough to put through a border punch.
  6. Punch a border strip and adhere to the stamped piece of pattern paper, measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches.
  7. Cover the joint of the two pieces that are adhered together with the 1/4 inch strip of pattern paper.
  8. Cut out a circle of vellum and apply a dusting of powder to stop static happening when embossing.
  9. Ink up birdcage stamp with Versamark Ink and stamp into the center of the circle die cut, apply a coat of embossing powder and heat set.
  10. To form the edge around the vellum, cut two circle dies one inside the other to form a border, adhere this to the vellum, and add this to the pattern paper with foam dimensionals.
  11. Trim a small strip of Serenade pattern paper and ink up the sentiment stamp with Memories Black Dye ink and stamp onto pattern paper.
  12. Adhere a clear button to pattern paper with Glossy Accents, allow to dry, trim around and poke holes to allow for twine to be added.
  13. Adhere the button to the end of the sentiment, tie off twine into a bow and cut a V into the other end of the sentiment banner. Adhere to the pattern paper with foam dimensionals.
  14. Add pearls to the top and bottom of the 1 /4 inch strip and sentiment banner.
  15. Adhere this to the front of the card with more foam dimensionals.
