Our dinner guests left and I was done for the day! Earlier, I had taken down my hippo collection at the Fairgrounds, and returned home to whip up a simple dinner . . . rack of lamb, fingerling potatoes and arugula salad. Since I don't enjoy lamb, I had a kobe beef patty with bleu cheese. Enough about food!

The Natural Classic Crest paper was delivered last night around 6:30 p.m. (long day for the UPS driver!), so it will be at Art 'n Soul later this afternoon. And I'm now on the way to pick up our Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko order for the store.

From the Cheery Lynn Designs' blog . . .

"And now on to my card for today.

I was originally going to make a red and white poinsettia wreath but liked the look of the all white so much I saved the red for another project.  I began by punching out 6 white card stock flowers with my Poinsettia 2 die.  Using my embossing mat and stylus tool, I dry embossed the back side of the petals to give them a bit of curl.  I used dimensionals between each of the petal layers.

Look at how beautiful these flowers are in the closeup above.  I add some Holly Leaves and Pine Branches to fill in the wreath.  Finished size is 6" square."

Fairy box - Kianel

"Hi there,
Kianel here with you today for a gift box i have made using Cheery Lynn designs dies.
You might have noticed that i love fairies and i just couldn't resist this little cutie from Whimsy stamps!

So here is a gift box that you can fill with pretty much whatever you want and offer to a dear one.

The box is 15x15cm. The base is made using the Ultimate pro tool and i then reinforced the structure with cardboard and printed papers from MME
And i added a little label in each corner from the sentiment frames #1 (a label isn't always a label and those ones work as hinges too, pretty cool! I always try to see the versatility of the die with 2 or 3 different ways to use it and that's a good investment!).

The lid is decorated with Lace light deco border all around.
Lace square heart mega doily is cut out and inked with distress. On top of it, i placed a layer of brown cardstock meseared from the inside frame of the die so that it fits perfectly.
Another layer is added with printed paper cut out with Large silver square stackers and i placed a lace all around.
I then used Manon's wedding garland doily frame which is oval but that i glued all around my XL scalloped circle stackers and Large silver circle stackers to fit it.

Here is a close up of the flower ensemble

The big flower is made using the Build a Flower #2 set. Each petal is cut out in a white paper and then inked with distress "antique linen" and "tattered rose" and then gently covered with shimmer paints from Creative Inspirations.

I usually build my flower from the center, adding petals one by one  and after the 3rd layer, i glue it on my box laying on the paper and then add petals one by one with 3D pads to the side of the flower so that the flower looks complete. Here i also added a pearl in the center and then i placed some leaves coming from the same set that i inked with distress "shabby shutters" and "forest moss" to give dimension. Some of them also are mounted on 3D pads.

I also built the small flowers from Embellishment set #2. Took one flower and cut it from the border to the center hole and then worked it with my tool to give it shape around a stamen i placed there. Then just added that on another flower to give dimension.

I finished with adding some small butterflies from the mini dimensional butterfliesset. And the sentiment from the Merry christmas set (smallest one fits perfectly on cards). I just cut the snowflakes out to give more autumn feeling than winter.

Hope you will like this box, really easy to do."

I'll be back with photos about new classes added to the schedule at Art 'n Soul! Please stay tuned!
