Here's the photo & description for John Petersen's next class at Art 'n Soul . . . Saturday, October 21, 2012 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at $30 per student.
Get ready for your hands to get inked up and explore the variety of techniques using IMAGINE Crafts and Tsukineko inks that can be used for more than just cards!  Using a wide range of inks including Memento and other Tsukineko inks. Use pigment inks to create backgrounds that layer inks and use other products including GooseBumps texture spray and other sprays. You'll leave class with a complete sample tag book for future reference to create other projects.

Please bring to class:
Scissors
Bone Folder
Adhesive of choice (suggest PPA or similar glue along with a tape runner, but can be done with just tape runners)
It's unfortunate that you cannot touch and see the tags up close on the blog; however, you can touch and see them up close at the store. We were very impressed when we saw them at John's last class!

Magenta Christmas Cards ideas

"Yes, it is time to think about Christmas cards again...  New stamps for the first card and with the second and third cards I wanted to illustrate how easy it is to change a little bit the look just by changing background papers."

Magenta rubberstamps:  02.303.N,  42.136.L, 07.324.B

Black embossing powder on watercolor paper (140lbs).
Tombow markers, watercolor brush and water.
Background:  Ink the tree with Memento Ink from Tsukineko,
twist the second stamp onto the tree and stamp on paper, repeat.
This little twist removes ink and creates texture on the tree.

Stacker Nesting Die Tutorial

"Hello! Jodi here today to share a fun way to use the Stacker Nesting Dies and the Silver Stacker Layers.

Here you can see the cutting edge of the Classic Coved Rectangle Stacker Nesting Die.
To create the base of the card, I placed my folded piece of cardstock on the die with the folded edge next to NOT OVER the cutting edge. By keeping the fold inside the cutting edge I am able to keep my cardstock in one shaped piece! I avoided any shifting of the cardstock by taping the cardstock to the die.

To create the frame, I used two similar sizes of the Classic Coved Rectangle Silver Stacker Dies. These dies have fabulous marking in the center of the die which are in incredible help in aligning the dies. Just match them up and away you go! Once I had mine aligned, I taped them to the cardstock to prevent shifting while I cut.

Tadaaa!!!

For fun and texture, I added the Lattice #2 to the backside of the frame and trimmed off the excess before adhering the full piece to my card. I added texture and ambiance to the card with the Petite Hearts XL Embossing Plate. The Anastasia Border added the prefect amount of elegance to dress it up. The rose and leaves were cut using theBuild a Flower #2 die. Darling Daisies are the prefect accent flower. With Olive Branches and a Mini Fanciful Flourish tucked in. Also added is the smallest of theTwo of Hearts, and a mini Exotic Butterfly.
Thanks for stopping by!"
