The sample cards arrived for Helene's third class at Art 'n Soul in May. Those of you signed up for this Magenta class working with the special acrylic tiles are gonna love it! When you're in the store next time, be sure to look at these beautiful samples . . . I can't wait for Helene's classes . . . do we really have to wait until mid-May? This is just one of the cards for the third Magenta class . . .

Dianne was one of the lucky students in Lisa Lee's recent Inchie Arts with Photographs class on Saturday. The other lucky students were Brenda Gatton, Kay Roller, Jeannie Coen, Sue Coen, and Susie. According to Dianne . . .

"Lisa brought lots of beautiful floral photographs to make cards with Twinchies, Inchie Plus and Inchies. We learned how to cut photos so that exactly what we want will appear on the Inchies. We learned how to make sequence or mosaic puzzles on our cards, and we went home with 8 beautiful, completed cards each. We learned to look at our photos in a completely new way, and I went home and took dozens of pictures around my home of colorful objects, as well as printed out dozens of pictures I have already taken, concentrating on ones with beautiful color. These cards are not hard to make, and the results are stunning. The last card we did, we were to choose 2-3 pictures from the pile that Lisa brought, and punch out 7/8" squares from them and arrange them on inchies to design our own cards."

"We also learned that EK Success is no longer making the 7/8" or 1 3/8" punches, and that we should obtain them if we can. The 7/8" punch makes a perfect size to mount on an Inchie with a 1/16" border; and the 1 3/8" one makes a perfect size to mount on an Inchie-Plus with a 1/16" border. We found that our distributor carries the 7/8" ones, and we will be obtaining as many as we can. The 1 3/8" ones don't seem to be available, unfortunately."

On Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Gwen Evans is coming to Art 'n Soul with her "Animal Spirit - Earth Art" class. Call the store to sign up at 360.357.6820 or come into the store . . . there are a few spots left. These cards may look challenging but Gwen knows the secrets to make them look beautiful with very easy and quick techniques! I posted the pic of one of these cards a while back and I'm adding another one so you can see how these beautiful Earth Art stamps make gorgeous cards!

Sue Coccia, artist and owner of Earth Art, and her husband were at the Portland Rubber Stamp Show across from the Local King booth. It was fun to watch the children enjoying her artistic animal spirit images.

They were so serious and focused on what they were doing;
Sue was 'moved' out of her spot at the table to
make room for the entire family.

They're selling these wonderful glass cleaners . . . wouldn't that make a great gift, especially when the accompanying card is one you've made from an Earth Art stamp!

Art 'n Soul's Inchie Club meets this Wednesday at the store from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Come and share your enthusiasm for inches, inchie and a half's, and twinchies. Don't know what we're talking about? Join the fun Wednesday and you'll see! Everyone is welcome . . . and it's free!
