Our community is so fortunate that author Christine Hansen lives right here. Her new book "Making Mixed Media - Art, Charms & Jewelry" is available at Art 'n Soul. These images remind me of the numerous classes Cindy Sharp taught at Art 'n Soul . . . we're just waiting for another class from Cindy once her shoulder has totally healed!

Reminder . . . have you signed up for Deb Kuttel's Zentangle class next Saturday (Sept. 18) and Tamara's Flickering Candle Birthday Cakes next Sunday (Sept. 19)? And then there's Joanna's KISS - Keep It Simple Stamping with Embossing Folders the following Thursday (Sept. 23) evening. We're having way too much fun at Art 'n Soul . . . but we all know there is never enough "way too much" of anything at Art 'n Soul.

And we all wish our Marj Marion happy travels to England where she's teaching and demonstrating her stenciling expertise to many lucky students. She's crossed "the pond" and should be acclimated by now. Maybe she'll check in with us and we can report on her adventures.

Sam Lee and I were talking yesterday about that "Remains of the Day" fabric and paper journal by Mary Ann Moss. Sam has registered for the online class and I plan to once Mary Ann returns from her trip abroad next week. We were talking about getting a group of folks together who are taking the online course and meet once or twice a month . . . to keep us moving along and sharing the fun. She liked the idea? Do you? Let's hear from you, please!

Today we remember all the lives that were lost and all of the lives that have been changed since 9/11/2001. I know I am so thankful for the men and women who bravely protect our freedoms and strive to bring freedom to others around the world. I am also thankful I have today to live and tomorrow to look forward to because of the freedoms we enjoy and too often take for granted . . . and much more appreciated because of the awakening 9 years ago.
I shall not wait until the holidays to say . . . "peace on earth, good will toward men."

  1. Wow - thank you so much for the very kind mention of our book! Peg & I are thrilled that so many people are excited about art charms - we hope this means lots of new friends to swap art charms with! I've been working on a new Scrabble tile charm design lately, featuring Art & Soul's luscious washi papers - once I get them finished, I'll bring a few in to the store for show & tell.
