DESIGN CHALLENGE by Inchie Arts & Embellish Magazine

Inchie Arts, along with Embellish Magazine, is excited to sponsor a design challenge. During the next two (2) weeks, you're encouraged to go to this website link (http://embellishmagazine.com/blog) and submit a card for the challenge. Six (6) entries will be featured online and one winner will be chosen to receive $100 in Inchie Arts products.

So come on, Art 'n Soul customers, get creative with Inchies and meet the challenge! We've seen some amazing Inchie designs at the monthly Inchie Club meetings. Submityour card design! If you need some "inspiration", go to the Inchie Arts' blog at http://inchiearts.typepad.com/ and see what Lisa has been up to.

BTW, did you know that there are 7 different colors in 3 different size "inchie" blocks . . . black, dark gray, light gray, wheat, dark cream, ivory and white.

Stampscape stamps came in today  . . .  the Stampscape shelf became somewhat bare, so we've added to the supply today. Did you realize that Stampscape stamps will work great if you're into the Twilight Series and want to make a journal and/or scrapbook for your favorite Twilight reader? The possibilities are endless.

We're loading up another Magenta order that goes in Wednesday. If there's anything you've wanted to order, make sure the store has your order by tomorrow (Tuesday, August 31). Speaking of Magenta, the "Copy-catting, Magenta Style" class on Saturday was a classic winner. Sue and Susie led us through several techniques to show off how beautifully Magenta peel-off's and stamps work with various art mediums. Here's Marilyn Dawson working on the bird chipboard & peel-off card that was so artistically beautiful.

Marilyn is using cat's eye pigment inks directly onto the bird chipboards. Afterward, Perfect Pearls powder colors are applied to allow the images to shimmer. On the same card, a peel-off border was placed on the cardstock, followed by direct-to-paper pigment inks and Perfect Pearls. The peel-off border was then removed, leaving only the colored images from the border peel-off. All so simple and so elegant.

If you haven't purchased Magenta's book, Paper Enchantments, order it as soon as you can. You will want your very own copy to work from so you can include any personal notes about each design that you've made from the book. All of the cards from the "Copy-catting, Magenta Style" class were from Paper Enchantments.

Sue and Susie are planning another "copy-catting" session from Paper Enchantments in November. Here's one of the sample cards . . .

Card Sample for November "Copy-Catting, Magenta Style" class.

Be sure to sign up quickly. The class on Saturday was almost full before the class sample cards were displayed at the store. Based on accolades from Saturday's class, the November class will fill up even faster!

I'm almost finished taking photo's of Jerri's Alice in Spookland book so you can "wonder" how she so cleverly filled the pages and added even more!

Last Friday, we were notified that the Outlines stamp order was shipped . . . let's keep our fingers crossed for a delivery by week's end.
