What a Weekend at Art 'n Soul

This has been quite a weekend at Art 'n Soul. The Terry Medaris class on Saturday and Tamara's class on Sunday . . . so much creative energy and artistry coming to life.

Speaking of classes, Elaine Woodhouse will be at Art 'n Soul on Sunday, September 12, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. teaching "Viking Weaving." It's a "technique" class; the examples shown on the class board at the store are only examples of what can be done using this technique. Here's a pendant piece using Viking weaving.

We'll post pics from Tamara's class once I have permission from those photo'd. It was quite interesting to see the development of the work from beginning to end.

There was a "missing" holiday stamp from Paper Parachute that I didn't post the other day; here it is:

Susie reports that we now have “sleeves” for Twinchies as well as ones for the one and half inch squares, and we’ve stocked up on the board pieces in all sizes. The Inchie Club meets this Wednesday, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Art 'n Soul. No particular theme this month, but you might want to bring "hot" pieces to match the recent weather (we're NOT complaining!).

A few of the new Terry Medaris stamps included Halloween type designs. One of them has been opulently finished by Susie . . .

Marj has been busy perfecting her Magenta peel off cards. Here are more cards she made from the Magenta peel-off's we used in the class last week. BTW, have you seen the new "birdie" paper from Magenta . . . it's on the paper trays on the Magenta table.

In the first sample, she placed the flower pot peel off on poster board to raise the image.

Debbie has separated the Webster's Pages 12x12 paper paks into separate sheets from the Boardwalk, Gentleman and Romantique collections. They are all double-sided designs, so be sure to look at "both" sides since we don't have the space to display both sides on the racks. The sheets can be found on the trays on the table on the left and the 12x12 paper shelves towards the back of the store. She is separating the punch out pieces and selling them for 25-cents each. (She made a "quick card" in less than 10 minutes using a Webster's Pages punch-out, Magenta peel-off and ribbon.)

CHA is happening right now in Chicago. Many new products for Halloween, fall, Christmas, etc., are being introduced. We're viewing as many as we can (not everyone is posting the new releases right now) so we can be prepared to place some orders on the first of the month. It's fun to see the sneak previews . . . there are beautiful papers and embellishments out there!

Graphic 45 Halloween papers have been re-ordered and should be here on Friday. Can't wait to add to the Halloween papers after the CHA show.
