It was quite fun to look through the current issue of "Take Ten" from Stampington. On page 71 and pages 108-109, stamps from Magenta are featured. Everyone of those stamps are ones we've sold or have for sale at Art 'n Soul, as well as the magazine. If you haven't purchased this latest issue, you will find it at Art 'n Soul!

From the Memory Box blog, Jenny Griffiths has created a darling Christmas card . . .

Bringing You Joy

"These adorable penguins seem to be parading by bringing Joy, gifts, and maybe a chuckle or two.  Their little expressions seem to range from determination to bewilderment as they pull along their Holiday presents in a snowy blizzard.
IMG_6376 copy
While making this card the little penguins made me smile as I cut them apart and posed them around the raised gift boxes.  I especially like the one popping out of the gift box--seems he's the "look-out" or navigator.  And the little one trailling behind needs his hand held so he doesn't get lost...the other two are decked out in Santa hats.
After the card was stamped with Presents of Joy, I added falling snow using an embossing folder and white pigment ink lightly swiped onto the raised snow pattern. After the ink dries add diamond glitter glue to the snow dots.  The gifts were paper pieced and elevated with foam squares.
The penguins were stamped on scrap paper, cut apart, colored (rosy cheeks, pale blue/gray on their tummys) and adhered to the card.  Of course I changed their positions a few times before settling on the line-up shown (it's the little things that amuse me).
Here's all you need:
Penguin Parade F1945
Presents of Joy D1951
Merry Little Christmas B1943
Even though its 96 degrees and humid today, it felt a little cooler playing in the snow with my favorite penguins.
Happy Friday!"

The Artist Choice for this month was an easy selection as an Artist-in-Residence for IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® using their wonderful products.

My oldest granddaughter is expecting her first baby next month. The "babee" shower this month had a picnic theme; lemonade would be served from a large dispenser and the party gift was a small jar of honey. I jumped to offer making a label for the honey jar, and a stamped design on the lemonade dispenser.

For the honey jar label, I took a sheet of Neenah Crest 80 lb. cover weight card stock in Solar White. I laid the chicken wire stencil from The Crafter's Workshop on the card stock and applied the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ dye ink in peanut brittle and Memento Luxe™ mixed media pigment ink in dandelion with an IMAGINE Crafts® InkBlusher™.

That card stock was then run through the printer so the words could be printed. The card stock was then adhered to one side of the double-sided Be Creative Tape from Elizabeth Craft Designs. The circle die cuts were made with Spellbinders' Standard Circles LG. Once the die cut was made, the other side of the adhesive was used to adhere the label to the jar lid.

For the lemonade dispenser, I cleaned the outside of the plastic dispenser and wiped it dry. Using the same chicken wire stencil from The Crafter's Workshop, I applied the StazOn™ solvent ink in Mustard with the InkBlusher™ in random spots. I also found a little stamp of a bee from Stampendous, 'Queen Bee' clear stamp set, that I stamped in random spots with the StazOn™ solvent ink in Jet Black.

I also made a baby shower card using a stamp from Magenta, 'Baby's Frame-in-a-Frame'.

by Debbie Gaetz
Artist-in-Residence for IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko®

After stamping the image with IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento Luxe™ mixed media pigment ink in Wedding White, I applied IMAGINE Crafts® Embossing Powder™ in clear and heat embossed.

I colored the 'frames in a frame' with Memento™ Dual Markers in London Fog, New Sprout, Pear Tart, Dandelion, Canteloupe, and Tangelo. The two outside frames were always colored entirely with the lightest of the colors, and then partially topped with the next darker color. For the outside frame, I added another darker color for a third of the area.

Using Sakura Glaze pens, I highlighted the eyes of the elf, sheep, bee and mouse (black), the eyes and paw pads of the teddy bears, some of the flower petals (hunter green and deep green), as well as the ribbon ties around the neck of the big and small bears (orange and yellow).

The top panel was adhered to black cardstock 1/8-inch larger on all sides for a small border. Both panels were then adhered to the base card made from Neenah Crest 80# cover card stock in natural. Two silk ribbons from May Arts were tied into a bow and applied with a large adhesive dot.

Thanks so much for 'popping in' today. Let me know which of the many products from IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® that you like best and why. It's always fun to compare notes!

Debbie
