Cheery Lynn started to introduce their holiday dies . . .
Christmas in July New Release
"Today. Cheery Lynn Designs is releasing 8 new holiday dies for your enjoyment. I have made a couple projects using some of them. My first project is a festive box to hold my Christmas cards.
This box is quite large, measuring 9 inches wide, 6.5 inches tall and 4.25 inches deep. I created the scalloped panels with next to the largest Scalloped Rectangle Mega Doily Reflections die. I created the inside box using chipboard as I wanted this to be quite sturdy.
To decorate the front, I added the new Fireplace Stockings frame, it measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I paper pieced all the individual parts adding fluff to the tops of the stocking but it looks quite stunning just as a die cut. I added 2 holly leaves in the upper corner from the new Holly Leaves strip die. This is a fabulous die; you get 3 pairs of leaves in graduated sizes. This is the medium size. Also new is the Merry Christmas sentiment set. There are 2 dies in this set; I have used the larger of the two for my box.
One each end, I have added the new Lace Christmas Tree die. It comes with an angel wing but I chose not to use it. The star is part of the die; look at the lovely lace detailing. No one does it better!
For the other side of my box, I have added the new Merry Christmas Card frame, backing it with gold metallic paper. This also measure 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I used the new Build a Flower 1 dies to create my flower; adding the largest Holly Leaves to the flower and the smallest to the bottom corner.
This was a fun project to make and quite simple with Cheery Lynn Designs dies. My second project is a tag.
This is the new Lace Christmas Stocking die. I added a hand cut backing to the die, then paper pieced the cuff in gold. I used my Mini Font dies for the name. And again added some Holly Leaves. The oval backing was created with my Scalloped Oval XL Stackers and matching Silver Oval Stackers. This tag is 6 inches tall. There are two more dies being released today, a Happy Holidays sentiment set of 2 and a beautiful Holly Corner. Be sure to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs website to see them all."

We walked along the Magnificent Mile to the bridges after we checked into the hotel. The river was alive! with busy pedestrian walkways, private boaters, and lots of water taxis and tour boats. The sun was shining and it was hot . . . luckily, there was a good wind.

Susie and Helene are in Chicago, too. We're meeting up tomorrow to be a part of the architectural tour of Chicago by boat; everyone says it is a 'must-do' when in Chicago. This is the home town of my favorite architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, and I'll try to recall images from "Loving Frank", one of my favorite fictionalized renditions of someone's life based on fact.
